"i heard a lot of hype about these shells so I wanted to try them myself been a long time fan of 30-30 for hunting deer. they shoot a little differt than normal shells if your gun is sighted in with soft points or hollow points you will have to reajust your scope. After i got sighted in at 100 yards i could group with repetable results of 1/2 inch group. I shot these also at 200 yards and 300 yards and was able to get an inch grouping at 300 yards with my 94 Winchester not bad for a lever gun. read above if you try other shells they will not shoot the same so dont waste your time your scope will not be ajusted for them. just a note no shell or gun will make you an accurate shot! only practice will do this I recommend shooting often if you have a flinch only practice will take this away good luck in all your hunts and remember be safe"

"This ammo by Hornaday has brought me back to my favorite Deer Rifle. With the old "flat nose" ammo, the best you could hope for was a pie plate pattern at 50 yrds with sand bags. Now at 100 yrds, everything is within 1/2" pattern and it was patterning as good as my buddys 7mm Mag as well as the 7mm-08 his sun shoots at 100yrds."

"I had a Marlin 336 in a 35 Remington caliber that I won at a Ducks Unlimited banquet that I was setting up for my son who will be of legal hunting age in 2 years. I bought the Cabelas scope made to match the Hornaday LEVERevolution ammo but was very skeptical. I took this bad boy to the range and hit the bullseye at 100, 200 and 300 yards with no problem. The ammo will begin to float a little if the barrel is warm and/or dirty (which is expected) but if you clean barrel before each shot with a bore snake and let the barrel cool....it is a killing machine! I bought the same combo for my Marlin 336 lever gun in a 444 caliber and can't wait to try it.
The only negative I have experienced was that one of the bullets in the box, for whatever reason, would not load properly. The bullet would not allow the lever to fully close and seat itself and I didn't want to force it. However, that being said, I can't wait to see what happens this deer season."

"Thank you Hornady for changing my Marlin .30-30 into a more all around rifle. Last deer season, I live in West Virginia, I harvested two average bucks with two shots. Both bucks were killed in fields at 200-250 yards and the results were dramatic. The first buck ran only about 20 yards and fell over. The second buck never took a step; it tipped over and didn't even kick! My father, who was watching, said it looked as if it had been hit with a .30-06!
I wish I could tell you about the conditon of the 160 grain flex-tip bullet but I can not. They both passed completely through the bucks and left large wound channels.
If you have a lever gun and want bolt-action performance, go buy a couple boxes of Hornady LeveRevolution; you will not regret it!!!"

"First time out this year, had a deer come out and made a perfect shot. Deer ran less than 50 yards and was down for the count. Was not so sure about a pointed tip bullit in a lever action riffle, but they work as well as any round tip bullits I have ever used."

"I bought a box of this stuff to try out. I set the scope with the first two shots and then shot for group with the next three. I shot a 100 yard group that was right at 1/4" with this ammo in my 336 Marlin. I loaded the flex tip bullets by hand and have been able to consistently get under 1" groups, but the factory loads were the ones that gave me the 1/4" group.
We are talking one ragged hole, with all three bullets touching from 100 yds with a levergun and a 4x scope. I never would have believed it if I hadn't done it myself. Of course loads and accuracy will vary from rifle to rifle, but the fact that I happened to get this tight of a group indicates that Hornady has one heck of a product here and that their quality control is obviously extremely high.
Now if I could get my bolt actions to shoot that well, I'd be golden."

"I've tested many of the different calibers of Hornady LeverEvolution Rifle ammunition. This 338 Marlin Express ammunition did not disappoint. I've found that this ammunition will shoot much more accurately that I normally can. The first rounds out of the box proved that with a sub-minute of angle performance out of my Marlin 338MX.
Terminal performance is also astounding. If you think that the exit path is impressive, just wait until you see the entrance. I examined a bear shot with my 444 Marlin with LeverEvolution ammunition. The first bullet was a pass-through the lungs and was unretrievable. Two of the 3 bullets penetrated fully down through the shoulders and neck of this massive, powerful animal coming to rest on the skin on the other side. Upon examination, the bullets were noted to be perfect mushrooms with extremely minimal loss of mass. The exit wound was sizeable causing massive blood loss, but the entrance wound was truely amazing. The fist-sized entrance and associated damage revealed the truely awe-inspiring power that the Hornady ammunition is capable of delivering effectively to even the largest game."

"I fired the 325 gr version of the 45-70 in my 22" barreled Marlin. Those groups consistently averaged just over 1-inch. So I was more than pleased. The only reason I gave a 4 star rating is that I have yet to use them on game, which I hope to do this year during the Wyoming mule deer season."

"I was shooting Winchester flat tip 150 grain ammunition out of my 30/30 Marlin Lever Action and could get a good group at 100 yards but would have to aim around 4 1/2 feet above a target at 300 yards to hit it. I tried this new Hornady ammo and at 100 yards I was hitting 6 inches higher than the flat tip's. I now aim my 30/30 close to what I do my 270 winchester with ballistic tip ammuntion at target at the 300 yard target. Great Ammo!"
