Too Short,August 25, 2009
By 2atloeightfrom North Carolina
"Jacket was a tall with no more than a 30" length if that. Way to short for a tall person. Mail order companies need to list the lengths of their jackets and coats. Material was as expected for Polartec. Nice but too short."
perfect Polarfleece jacket,May 26, 2009
By OutdoorPainterfrom central Mass.
"This jacket has all the joys of thick Polarfleece plus the benefits of great design. I am a mom, and find myself sharing this. The shape and pockets fit really well, the hood is roomy enough, and it cinches down easily with strings that go low enough. I ordered one to wear indoors in the winter (after power out for six days following ice storm), and find my naps much better, with hood up. It's so warm, I just add a breathable windbreaker to use it outdoors, too. Because I ordered Tall, to get the extra coverage in body length, it turns out to be wonderful for keeping my hands warm, too. I loved the yellow for winter (my Golden Fleece), and have gotten a blue one for summer, confident I will take it on many camping trips and outings. Perfect garment. Need it in more colors."
Layering At It's Best,May 4, 2009

"I've been wearing Polartec for several years. This jacket fit my needs to the "T"! I wanted a hood for those blustery days. The jacket had to be lightweight and very flexible. I'd been wearing a hooded Carhart and it was too heavy and stiff. The small zippered pocket was ideal for storing my FRS radio. I bought two of these in different colors."
Cut chills from Cancer for my dad,March 3, 2009
By SonOfaDadfrom North Carolina
"My dad is a cancer survivor, who's cancer has recently returned. One of the side effects of his chemo is a recurring case of the chills. He told me that he was wearing long johns, a turtle neck, a hooded sweatshirt, a hat and was wrapped up in a blanket... but was still cold.
After having done some extensive research on warm hunting gear, I knew he needed some Polartec 300. He doesn't need it outside, just inside. Every review I had ever read of it said that it was too hot for much if any outdoor activity.
He wears it around the house regularly, and it is the first article of clothing he reaches for when he feels a chill coming on. He still gets the chills, but this hoodie has kept them at bay several times, makes the duration of them shorter and is so comfortable that he really enjoys wearing it.
Warm, Breathable, and waterresistant,February 25, 2009

"I bought the polartec hooded jacket for a layering system for river steelhead fishing. Goretex jackets and waders are lightweight and you need to add your warmth underneath those. With this jacket, well actually its a hoody if thats what you call them, is warm, comfortable and breathable. I wear mine almost on any outing where its cold or wet. I'm 6"2" and light build about 175lb. I bought the large tall. Its a bit on the bigger side length wise but if someones a bigger build with a gut than this is perfect. I also bought the 400 weight wader liners and those are nice too."

"You get what you pay for, and polartec 300 is worth the price. Cabelas 300 polartec is also half the price or less of brands like mountain hardware and northface etc. It is suitable as an outer layer down to 45 degrees or so with little or no wind, add a thick coat and you are good down to zero degrees. Nice sized pockets, drawstring tensioners are junk, they will have to be replaced immediately or very soon."

"I was very pleased to find a company that not only carried tall sizes, but big sizes as well since my son is 6'4" and weighs 330 lbs. I am very pleased with the sizing of this product and also the quality."
polartec fleece,December 31, 2008

"I took a chance on buying this fleece jacket because I'm not much of a fleece wearer, but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the garment. I also like it's ability to keep you warm despite it's light weight."
"My husband had open heart surgery 2 years ago and is always cold. He loves this jacket and says he has not been cold since he started wearing it. It's durable, comfortable and really warm."
Most warmth for the money,December 15, 2008
By variousonesfrom Northwest Ohio
"I wanted a jacket that was light in weight and yet very warm. I don't know how they do it but the jacket (Polartec 300 Hooded Jacket) is unbelievable. You might need something more if it was -15 degrees but it is warm. I don't get out in that real cold weather (below zero) anymore at my age. A friend of mine when he saw me weraring the jacket said, "How do you stay warm in that light jacket?". So I gave him my preachment on the jacket. I got a tall 2X I am a big man and it fit great. I hope they don't quite offering this jacket. It is top of the line on fit and warmth. Would have liked some inside pockets. It is definitely a 5 star jacket.
Polartec 300 hooded jacket,December 2, 2008

"I've been very happy with my new jacket. The fit, a men's large/tall is very ample. This jacket is comfortable over a shirt and vest at 15 degrees. I tried it out this morning."
"Quite warm. Not exceptional wind protection, but it is a fleece. GREAT value when compared to other jackets also made of 300 weight Polartec (namely one over priced jacket named after a mountain in Alaska).
I am 6'0", 190 lbs.. Got a tall medium hoping it would fit trim through the torso but give a little extra length in the sleeves. It is still cut too large through the torso and the sleeves are a tad long. Could probably pull off a small with the tall sleeves but that is not a size option. Sometimes I think I should have gone with the regular instead of tall. I am thinking of altering the cuffs though (the elastic is tighter than I like it) and so I will at least have room to play with there. The cut is too much bulk under a wind / rain shell to be ideal, but I can make it work with no discomfort.
All in all I am very pleased with this jacket save the sizing issues."

"This hooded Polartec 300 jacket is really a step above regular fleece - much warmer and denser, as well as being very soft. Keeps me good down to at least freezing. The Pacific Blue color is outstanding, too. A good buy."
