A perfect Jacket,November 4, 2009
By Enduringfrom Wisconsin
"Absolutely the most breathable, softest, lightest, warmest, and coziest jacket you can buy. I bought one for me and one for my wife – she wears a medium in women’s sizing, so I got her a small in men’s sizing, and it fits perfectly. Want to get totally spoiled? Don’t say I didn’t warn(m) you. Put on a pair of Cabela’s Polartec Classic 200 fleece pants, a Cabela’s Polartec classic 200 Crew, and this Cabela’s Polartec Classic 300 hooded jacket. It’s an amazing experience in light-weight warmth and coziness. Our dog, Max, came equipped with a perfect coat of his own, but he, too, thinks these jacket’s are amazing. Although, that might have something to do with the top chest pocket we keep dedicated to holding dog biscuits."
Wow...great jacket!,June 30, 2009

"Loved the size/fit and warmth of this Polartec jacket. Fit is very generous to accommodate layers underneath. We like to camp all year and having this jacket with the hood, makes it a great addition to our outwear."
"I have at least 10 fleece jackets and this one is definately the warmest. You wouldnt want to go any thicker than this. The only complaint I have is the fit. Its a bit short, barely going to my belt line! I am 5'6" with a size 30 waist and I got a regualar small. Its super puffy and very loose fitting. It will work well as a 2nd layer if you have a rather large shell. I have the North Face Mountain light shell in a small and this fleece barley fits under it as a second layer. The neck area is a bit tight with both hoods on together and fully zipped up. So think about it fitting under your shell before you buy it. The pockets are pretty cool, with zippers to keep items secure. Although they could be a little deeper. This is an excellent jacket to wear on its own though. Its very comfortable....like wearing a blanket. Perfect for those cold drives to work in the morning. Remember though, there arent any hooded fleece out there as thick as this one....unless you want to pay $200 for that rediculously overpriced Denali."

"The jacket is confortable and can be worn during all seasons depending on the layering. The only drawback is that the zippers do not last. They are of very poor quality and should be replaced with a heavy duty zipper. This comment is based on years of experience with the jacket."
Nice fitting jacket,April 7, 2009
By Brenhairfrom Mayville, Michigan
"This is a nice fitting jacket...warm and cozy. I would recommend using it for layering, though, as the wind can blow through it. Also would recommend washing it first, as mine seemed to shed fuzz . I do wish Cabela's would get some better colors... black would be good. The mustard is a horrible color."
Polartec Hooded Jacket,March 9, 2009

"Hard to find a Polartec 300 jacket with a hood so these from Cabela's are most welcome. They're well made, warm and they hold up to use. I own 3 of them. Bring back the navy blue."
Polartec Hooded,February 24, 2009

"I was hoping this was going to be a little heavier than the standard fleece garment and it is. This is one of the warmest fleece jackets I have ever owned and I own alot of fleece. Most of my fleece is used in hunting situations but I wanted a jacket I could wear anyhwere and this is the one. I recommend it highly for every day use in cold/cool climates."
Really like this,February 23, 2009
By Jimbobborgfrom DC Area
"I got this a few weeks ago, and I really like it. It's really warm, and makes a good layer for really cold days. The good: warm, good insulation, has draw strings in the right places. The bad: for me, it doesn't zip up high enough to keep the wind out, if it's really windy, it's a bit too breathable, but it works great with a windbreaker over it. I really like this jacket. I'd get another one if I had the money."
Great for layering...,February 17, 2009

"I've used this jacket in sub-zero weather hunting upland birds in Kansas. It's great for layering because you don't lose any mobility and it keeps the wind off your neck."
Best hooded fleece jacket you can buy,February 16, 2009
By Anonymousfrom I live in Portland, Oregon.
"I am an avid fisherman and hunter. I live in the Pacific NW and fish in the ocean, bays and rivers year round. I have 4 of these Cabela's jackets and I am never without one.
They are lightweight, soft, very warm and made with quality. I own a blue, 2 greys (my dog chewed a hole in one when I left some gum in a pocket - but it's still good) and a black jacket. They are called a jacket but they are more like a full zippered pullover. I wear them as primary outer gear or under a rain jacket. They feel great and I love to wear them.
This is one of Cabela's best garments - I have not seen one that compares from any other brand.
I have sold many of these for Cabela's as people ask me where I got it on a regular basis. Get one!
I retired last year - I had my boats and equipment all lined up for retirement. I am an active member of NW Steelheaders, trout unlimited, CCA, etc. My company continues to send me to Alaska with key clients every year and I participate in all the local hatchery fund raisers. All the West Coast Guides know me by 1st name and I am equiped to be of guide status. I have 3 sons with 4 grandsons so if you could see my garage I have 60+ rods set up for trout, steelhead, salmon and sturgeon so I can entertain family and friends. The rods are set up for drift, bobber, back bouncing, flyfishing, etc. I also have a 17' Willie drift boat for the rivers. I am a good, experienced fisherman and bird hunter. I was President of the local Hunting and Retreiver Club for 11 years and we have raised labs for over 40 years. I shoot quality guns and use top quality fishing gear.
"The jacket is great---looks great, fits well, and is very warm. The hood, however, is a big disappointment. It is SO over sized that it falls well over the face, covering the eyes. And since it has no drawstring, it can't be closed around the face to keep it from flopping over the face, and to keep the wind out. Because of this, the hood is useless. To avoid the hassle of returning it, I'm thinking of cutting off the hood, even though the hood is why I purchased the jacket in the first place. The catalog description should have stated that the hood on this jacket is oversized and without drawstrings."

"I purchased the jackets for my father and husband. My husband is extremely happy with his because he can wear it duck hunting as it has a pocket for your duck calls."
