Good gloves,
November 16, 2009
By MrOldLude
from Houghton, MI
|
"I used these gloves for several years in the Upper-Peninsula of Michigan, and I have to say I'm completely happy with them. For light day to day use, they were a bit too bulky most of the time, but heavier and colder needs like shoveling/blowing mountains of snow, they were great.
Now, I won't say they're a miracle product. On a couple of outings, I did feel a couple of my fingers becoming cold, but that was because I was under-dressed. When paired with proper clothing, I never had a problem.
They were also my exclusive sledding glove. They survived miles of down-hill runs. The leather on the palms if somewhat beat up (but intact), and are otherwise still in good shape."

Military Glove size poblem,
February 17, 2009
By MikeMN
|
"I have been using the Military Glove since 1992. I have purchased many pairs and have given them as gift. This year I ordered two pairs (one as a gift) in the size I have been using. The fit was awful way too small. Thinking this must be a mistake I drove to a Cabela’s store to exchange. It was the same there. I tried a size larger, but that did not work. The right glove was ok but the left glove was too small. I returned my pair. The person I bought the other for said he could live with it though it was tight. Normally I would highly recommend the Military Glove. This year it was as if they paired a medium and a large glove and called it a large or a large and extra large and called it a extra large. Hopefully by next year this will be fixed. If so I will buy another pair.
Note it would be great if they went back to the orginal design with an almost all leather outer shell."

Cabela's Gore-Tex Thinsuate Military Glove,
February 10, 2009
By Lesjude
from Central NY
|
"These gloves run small. A size large is normally roomy for me but the fingers were too tight. I exchanged them for X-large which has enough room but the fingers are too long which makes them awkward to pick things up with. The gloves are warm and water proof at a good price for the durable constriction and Gore-Tex. I wear them when I run my snowblower which is quite often living east of Lake Ontario; and they are excellent for that application."

Perfect at the bus stop,
January 11, 2009
By Shaunsi
from Cleveland OH
|
"I haven't been able to use these gloves very much yet, but when I have they have been absolutely great! When the wind comes whipping off of Lake Erie it gets pretty cold. This is when I'm just standing at the bus stop waiting for the bus and everyone else is huddling in the shelter. I also don't have any problem gripping or holding items like cold or hot drinks while waiting outside. If you are looking for gloves to keep you warm while you're active, these might be overkill. However when you are standing around at a bus stop or if you are in a deer stand these would definately be great!"

gore tex gloves for fishing,

By TeamStratos

"This was the 2nd pair of these I have bought from Cabelas. The first pair lasted about 7 years and I still use them but the leather on the palms is coming off. They are 100% waterproof and windproof. No need to worry about windchill when its below freezing and the boats doing better than 70 mph."

No good for cold weather,
December 20, 2008
By papa42
from South central Wisconsin
|
"I used these gloves one time, snowblowing in sunny, dry, windless, 10 degree weather. In less than a half hour my fingers were cold to the bone. Everything else was fine. I put on my old gloves and finished the job with no further problems from the cold. I have returned the new gloves to exchange for the Cabela's Pinnacle gloves. I hope they are better. They have many positive reviews."

worst gloves I ever owned,
December 14, 2008
By rkymtnman

"As stated before, these are too stiff to anything in. I used them for a walk with the dog and could barley hold the leash with them. As for warmth these just as bad. On that same walk in 30 degree temps my fingers got quite cold. I cannot reccomend these gloves to anyone."

Gore-Tex military glove,
February 20, 2008
By flyfishermanforlife
from Spokane, WA

"They are too stiff in the fingers. It is tiring to grasp anything like a shovel or even a fishing rod. I plan to exchange them for gloves that have less leather in the fingers. I have a pair of #960280 that are much more comfortable to wear."

Excellent,

"I am a Lineman for an electric co. About 15 years ago I cut my thumb off in an accident. I tried many different gloves before I found yours. They kept my thumb warm and it didn't hurt when it was cold. They were able to sew my thumb back on ,but to this day when it starts to get cold it hurts. I also wear it hunting for ducks and it keeps my hands dry."

"I work on a golf course and sometimes cut greens on ridding greens mower early in the morning, when the temp. is around 35 degrees, I bought these gloves in hopes they would keep my hands warm for 2 the hours it takes me to do the job, they do not. they are ok in temperatures around 40-50."
