"I purchased the gun/bow mount to finally have some visual support for all of my hunting stories involving harvesting white tails. I've attached the mount to my Knight muzzleloader and plan to use on my Savage 30-06 and Mossburg 695 shotgun. It worked worked very well with the Knight. I used one of the smallest camcorders on the market with great results. With a steady grip and a light-weight camera you will be getting great pictures. I can't use it on my crossbow because of the acru-draw attachments."

"Good product. Sweet inovation!!! Only downside, is that the bow mount combined with a light video camera is still very heavy and difficult to hold a tight shot. Will do great come turkey season as a gun mount. Just a little disappointed in how much the system combined with a camera on a bow weighed. Not the products fault more my expectations. Will still use it and recommend it! Happy Hunting!!!"

"I just bought this camera mount in August. I was a little skeptical to use it because I was not sure if it would make my camera skip or black out when I shot. I went bow hunting back home in Wisconsin for bear and I used the camera. I got excellent video footage of the whole scenario from the first time I saw the bear, through the shot, and then when the bear went back into the woods. I showed all my friends and family the video and everyone was very amazed that the camera was actually mounted to my bow and the video turned out so well. The design of the bow mount is absolutely amazing and I cannot even tell that the camera is there. Excellent product!"

"We went snow goose hunting this past fall. we had layout blinds and the mount was on my shotgun inside the blind and once i knew we were gonna shoot i hit the record button on my camara and pulled the gun up out of the blind and shoot away and the mount stayed on the whole time and recorded everything. i would recommend this to anyone wanting to record any hunts its perfect."

"I was goose hunting and could not wait to use it. I use a Sony DVD305 camcorder , it is real small. First flock of geese came in I fired once and felt something hit my hand. The little plastic shock bracket broke. I was upset that it broke on the first shot.
As with any thing with Cabelas they stood behind it and will refund or replace. Thank you Cabelas !!"

"Attached the mount as directed by the instructions to a Benelli Shotgun upon the second shot the plastic shock absorbers broke dislodging and dropping the camera. The rig was being used for a hunting show, this episode duck hunting, and the footage on the camera would have been lost had it not been for the gun users lack of faith in the product and insight to zip tie it to the firearm catching it in case of a fall. I would not recommend the product. Especially not for cold weather use, being entirely plastic."

"It took me 30 seconds to mount it to my bow, and even less time to mount it to my shotgun and my rifle. One nice surprise is that the end of your barrel or arrow shows up in the corner of the screen as you are taking your shot. It comes with a lifetime warranty, which you probably won't need, because it seems to be very sturdy. I would recommend this to any hunter."

"This mount was easy to attach to my bow and has a unique shock absorbent system built into the camera carriage. It is designed to be used with more conventional cylindrical stabilizers. I purchased an extra stabilizer damper which was not necessary since the mount comes with one. I put it on my bow in the afternoon and shot my deer that evening. Unlike some of the other reviews in which it was used with a firearm, you will definitely see the bow recoil in the digital video when you hit the release. Although I left room for improvement in my 4 star rating I really liked this product for its easy installation and use. You will need one of the newer, smaller digital video cameras to use with it and I suggest that you select the memory stick as your movie media storage in stead of the hard disk if your camera gives you the option. All of my videos were of good uninterrupted quality due to the fact that the recoil did not negatively affect the recording process which might be expected should you consider the mechanical nature of internal hard disk storage. It has opened a whole new facet of hunting for me and my only recommendation is make sure that the digital video camera you purchase does not make a noise when you turn it on or select a stand by mode. I will tell you about gun season in a few more weeks!"

"Initially upon receiving the "Deer Ridge Gun and Bow Camera Mount" I was disappointed. I wanted to use it on a bowhunt for moose in northern Ontario and it came missing the screw which attaches your camera to the mount. There wasn't enough time to return it and get a replacement, so I just found a bolt in the garage, some duct tape, mounted my video camera to the mount and off moose hunting I went. The rest is video history. I called in and shot an 800-900 lb bull moose and recorded it on digital video using the Deer Ridge Bow Camera Mount!! What a phenominal product for creating lasting memories that allow you to relive the exact moment from your perspective over and over again. It attaches easily to the bow, and I guess the camera would attach to it easily as well with the proper screw, my system was a little clumsey, but worked. I am extremely pleased with this product and know that it will get used on my rifle when coyote hunting, my bow when deer hunting and on my shotgun when turkey hunting, as well as next year when I go bowhunting for moose again. Great product, didn't break the bank."

"I ordered this for my husband and just recently received it. He has not been able to put it into use but he is happy with it so far. He said it installed very easily on the gun and he is very happy with it so far. He wont be able to put it to use till this fall when Deer Hunting comes in. I also purchased the camaflouge thin skin camera tape for the camcorder. That was very easy to use as well. It is very thin and conforms to the odd shapes and contours of the camera very well."
