"i bought this rifle tonignt, was a little worried at first due to the lower price compared to the other models. But has a fine wood stock and extra sturdy full steel barrell, no sleaves or plastic covers. the trigger feels ok to me, the scope actualy works and adjusts when turning the adjustment screws, and is very clear. First thing--you must clean the barrell prior to shooting, there is alot of oil (anti-corrosion substance), in the barrell. this could account for many others inconsistant grouping out of the box..scoped it in in less than 30 minuites. able to group less than 1" dead center bulls-eye from 20 yards. i like the heavy feel of the solid wood stock, feels like a very high quality rifle and not a kids toy. this thing is powerfull, after checking my awesome grouping, i check the condition of the 1/2" plywood backboard. Its no longer useable for anything else, the hollow point lead pellets went all the way though, blowing large holes on exit and puting large dents into the truck tailgate it was leaning against..Two thumbs up from me so far..I realy like that it comes with two barrell's. But the gun must be resighted in after barrell change..Even the .22's when though the plywood..WOW...and also grouped well..."

"the seal on this gun was broken within a few shots. the trigger pull its terrible,verry,verry hard. not accurate at all. i thoght it was the scope, mounted a burris. and still didnt do the job. dont buy this gun!"

"this gun is junk, front sight broke taking it out of the box. trigger pull is around 50 pounds, I have never had a trigger pull this hard in my life. 6 to 7 inch groops at 15 yards with scope, some of that is probably due to the trgger pull."

"I purchased the ss1000 because it came with open sights. Shots pull consistently to the right farther than sight adjustment can correct. It is dead on with a scope, but I didn't want a scoped air rifle."

"Ive been shooting air rifles for a very long time now, and ive been through a few air rifles. I bought the beeman ss 1000 about 3 months ago, and just about a month ago it blew out a seal, that means the spring-piston still works, but the only thing is, it wont propel the pellet. Even if that was working, cocking the barrel, it was getting very loose and felt like it was about to break. Something happened to the trigger also, every time i cock it, i would have to pull the trigger foward. Also the trigger pull when i got this was horrible, the trigger pull can actually make a gun shoot inaccuratly, after about 1000 shots it loosened up, but was still very hard, so i recommend a two stage adjustable trigger if you buy a air rifle. The two stage adjustable trigger can decrease the length of the trigger pull, or you can pull the trigger a certain amount, then it will stop, and you can just pull it a little more and it will fire, increasing your accuracy by a lot.This is one of the worst guns ive had, i had 2 beemans including this one, the other one, the spring actually broke. But if you want to buy a beeman, you should go for the higher quality, which means you have to spend more money. Or buy another brand. Crosmans are very cheap, i wouldnt recommend them. Gamos are very nice, But all in all, RWS are by far the best air rifle company in my opinion. I hope this helps."

"This gun was a total desaster from when i opened the box. This gun is so heavy that it is impossible to shoot free handed. After about 150 shots the guns break barrel stoped working. It didnt ingage the lever anymore. Dont get this gun!"

"I had the gun for 2 days. Shot it about it 150 times. It started shooting more accurate after about 50 shots. Then on the 2nd day I started to cock it and it wouldn't hold the barrel down, even after holding it down for a few seconds. The 2nd time the barrel popped up and slammed shut and bent the barrel upwards. Needless to say it went back. Invest your money on something with higher quality."

"I have never writen a review before, yet after owning 2 Beeman airguns I feel forced me to warn anyone interested in the kind of JUNK this gun is, and not to buy one. I was able to return both to Cabela's and I can speak to the fine service I received there. However, both guns failed to cock after but a few firings. Further, there was NO consistancy in where the shot went. Although the weapon looks good it performs to the level of what it is, junk."

"I found this air rifle to be fantastic right out of the box. Took my first shot with the open sights and found them right on the money. I was very pleased that instructions for mounting the scope came with the rifle, the other two air rifles I have just give you the basic screw it on and go, this one gave the details of doing it properly. After mounting the scope I got very accurate reults and tight groups. The only thing that surprised me was the noise it is a bit louder than I expected for an air rifle but for the power I can deal with the noise. Over all an awesome rifle."

"I pulled this air rifle from its box Christmas morning and assembled the parts easily. I immediately began shooting the rifle without sighting in the scope and found it fairly accurate. I was a little concerned its trigger pull, having previous read other reviews . I did not find the trigger pull excessive and found it a great safety fixture, along with the trigger safety to prevent an accidental discharge in the event the rifle is dropped.
The rifle is easy to shoot, has little recoil and will make a great backyard hunting and target weapon, particularly for the price."

"This air rifle was a sad excuse for a gun. It had the worst trigger pull I have experienced and there was no way to adjust it.
After it failed to stabalize the lead pellets I tried the new "Raptor" pellets. Other than shooting them fast this rifle produced no consistant grouping. Using a benchrest and retightening the scope mounts made no difference. I removed the scope and had the same problem with open sites. After a short afternoon of shooting the front optic site came free from its mounting.
This rifle is now enroute back to Cabelas. Do not waste your money on this rifle."
