When we designed and built our Roughneck Washed Canvas Jacket, we had one goal in mind: a work jacket that wouldn't ride up when you move. That's why this jacket is built with an action back and underarm gussets, letting you raise your arms above your head without exposing your stomach or lower back. That's not something you'll find in other work jackets. Once we mastered range of motion, we combined that design with time-tested and proven hard-working materials like a 12-oz. cotton canvas shell that's been washed for softness and Sherpa lining in the body for warmth and comfort without extra weight or bulk. Sleeves are nylon lined for easy on and off. Two slash handwarmer pockets, plus a zippered chest pocket. Interior security pocket. Imported.

"I bought this coat because it seemed like a good deal. I haven't been disappointed. It fits me great, but i have long arms for my height(5'10 with 6'2 arms). The cuffs just touch my knuckles and fits my shoulders well. At first it felt a little bulky under the arms but I don't notice it after a few weeks. It hasn't gotten as cold as it could here but I have worn it to 30 or so degrees with just a t-shirt and it was warm still. As long as it holds up like i think it will it is well worth the money."

"Best work jacket I have ever owned. Warm, comfortable, easy to move in. Withstands moderate to heavy amounts of rain. Jacket lining inside is very comfortable, while exterior is strong enough to withstand scratching from briars and barbed wire. Probably not the warmest jacket for Alaska pipeline workers, but warm enough for 25 degrees in WV. Would recommend to anyone."

"This seems to be a well-made jacket. The arms are longer than average, but with adjustable cuffs, it isn't a problem. Plus, on colder days, I can allow the sleeves to cover my hands to provide a little warmth. It has kept me warm in temps as low as 19 degrees with just a T-shirt underneath(just got the coat...colder temps on the way). The sale price made this a great deal and I would buy again."

"When looking for a new fall jacket for N. California I had two choices... Sorry the guidelines prohibit my mentioning the competition, but their jacket was very similar to this one at 3x the price! I've always liked Cabela's products so I decided to try this jacket and am very pleased that I did. Quality is excellent, exterior, lining, sewing, all first rate. Pockets are a little small, but useable. I'm always worried about sizing when purchasing from a catalog. I normally wear a medium shirt/coat so I tried that size and it's just right. If you plan to wear a heavy sweater under it, you might want to go a size larger than your usual, but for fall around these parts the fleece lining is perfect as is and so is the fit.
This jacket looks and feels like it can take a beating and still perform. Glad I tried Cabela's"

"After losing my Roughneck jacket last winter, I knew that I'd be purchasing a new one once the weather started cooling off. Although I still have mixed feelings regarding the new 'snaps' on the cuffs as opposed to the 'buttons' on my previous jacket, it is still my go-to outerwear regardless of the occasion.
The canvas shell is incredibly durable (though it does fade a bit in areas of high wear, like the forearms) and certainly water-proof enough for work in light to medium rain, though i suspect it'd do well in a downpour too. The insulation is surprisingly warm despite being relatively thin, and even in Northern Wisconsin I've rarely been cold enough that a sweatshirt and Roughneck weren't enough.
My favorite thing about this jacket has to be the fit. There is great mobility in the shoulders, and the arms are plenty long enough even for my 6' frame (even with the size small that I have). For the money, I doubt there is a better jacket for working or playing hard outdoors."

"Pretty good at what it does. It's comfortable on the inside and rugged on the out. Pockets are placed nicely, every bit of lining is pretty nice all over, the cuffs are somewhat adjustable, it's got a lot of wiggle room and the color is nice and great for any occasion except for something like board meetings with execs (unless you're seated at the head of the table, I guess). The extra material where the upper sleeves meet the shoulders makes for that "wiggle room" and for activites that involve a lot of movement like motorcycle riding. Overall a great jacket. I probably won't need another one again. It's good to see clothing that's worth its price!"
