550 Pound Scale Review,
November 4, 2009
By Ruger123
|
"Bought this scale due to a large quantity of Wild Hogs appearing at our Hunting Lease. It seamed as though they appeared overnight. My Cotten Seed Scales only go to 200# and some of these hogs that we have on our Trail Cams are well over that weight. We have taken two smaller hogs since the purchase of this scale. This scales outer housing is of Metal Construction with I'd guess around 22 Gauge Material. The lense is heavy plastic and the Two Hooks are Super Heavy Duty and will definitely hold the 550 + Pounds. The Cool thing about it is you can adjust the Dial to Zero out for what ever weight of mechanism you hang your game to."

"I have no idea how this scale works. I opened the box and this scale is HUGE!! It is not something you want to carry with you. It is so big you probably don't even want to carry it around in your truck. I am returning it."

"This scale is useful, but the S hook doesn't stay on very well, so you will need to modify it by closing it so it stays on the scale dial."

Scale carries no weight,
October 14, 2009
By TDUB1
from Virden, Il.
|
"Purchasing this scale was a mistake, it never worked from the start. It would not zero out from the very beginning Contacted Cabelas and they sent me another one, as of yet I haven't tried to weigh anything but at least it will zero out. The rep at Cabelas was very cordial and said to return both of them if the replacement malfunctioned. I'll find out soon, archery season started Oct. 1st in Illinois."

HEAVY DUTY,
March 9, 2009
By Farmer7722

"This is a heavy duty scale that works great. I actually should have purchased a lighter weight version since I will probably only weigh white tail deer. No issues with the workings of this one though."

550 Game Scale,
December 25, 2008
By jkerk
from Muskegon, MI
|
"My friends and I have always guessed and estimated how much our deer weigh. This fall was an exceptional season for my buddies and I. At one point we had 6 deer hanging in the garage, and of course everyone says that theirs is the biggest. Lol. At that point I decided to order the game scale. Now, having the scale, there is no more guessing and estimating. My cousin Nick had the largest deer. His doe weighed in at 120lbs. That is an excellent doe for western Michigan! And just like every other sportsman, we always had said "It was this Big!" Buying the game scale was a great ending to a great season."
