All Around Best Rangefinder,January 7, 2009
By JKisnerfrom West Virginia
"With months of research and looking at rangefinders in the stores, I decided to go with the Leica - here's why:
The glass is superior to all the other lower priced items and comparable to swarovsky's. I can read 2" mailbox letters clear as day from 116 yards away...nice that you could double these as a monocular if you wanted.
The LED readout is superior to all other models - Leupold's was dark and busy, not to mention hard to read. Bushnell and Nikon was just not bright enough for low light or bright days. Swarovsky is on par though, but the reticle is too large in my opinion for ranging smaller objects.
Leica got it right when they redesigned this from the LRF. 30% smaller is excellent when you're counting pounds and even ounces for the trail. Granted, it does seem hard to keep steady because of the way you are supposed to hold it. It's something that will take practice...
I have gotten consistant and accurate ranges no matter the number of times I ranged an object.
I also just ranged a white building 318 yards away from my parking lot. Did I mention it's January and 7:15PM. The street lights were all I had and still got a reading on a barely visible structure...Impressive. Ranging at distance is also equally impressive: Black calf at 923 yards seemed good to me.
I could probably go on, but you get the point. I take my long range shooting seriously and I don't like regretting a purchase when I'm in the field or on the range. Sometimes you don't get a second chance...."

Leica CRF-1200 Rangefinder,November 18, 2009
By TennesseeManfrom Nashville, Tennessee
"Accurate, Fast, Repeatable...without unnecessary bells and whistles to interfere with field demands. This is the most dependable unit available and a bargain when quality is the objective. Simple to use and ergonomically friendly. I use this unit to hunt as well as long range rifle events and have been impressed by it's repeatability and accuracy in all lighting and weather conditions."

awesome rangefinder,November 18, 2009
By bks1968from Northwest Montana
"Title says it all. easy to use, compact, lightweight and fits nicely in shirt or jacket pockets. Accurate to range, however doesn't like the fog, but neither do any other laser rangefinders. Thought about getting one with ballistic compensation, however simpler is better on the hunt. Would buy again. Optics are great and found myself using it just optically on occassion vice lifting my leica 8x32 binos.....go for it!"

"My friend bought the range finder before I did and suggested that I purchase one for myself. I am very pleased with the optics and range of the product. It has passed a very difficult Wyoming bighorn sheep hunt. Thanks Leica."

Absolutely Money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,August 18, 2009
By MattRapidCityfrom Rapid City, SD
"I have owned the Bushnell, Loopy and Leica. I even bought the latest Loopy RX 1000 to extreme disappointment. After returning it and getting harassed about it I will never buy another optic unless I am allowed to be escorted outside to see how it works in the outdoors. Any piece of glass can look decent inside the showroom. The text on the Loopy 1000 turns pink in any amount of light outside. The cycling is labored and clumsy. The LEICA...cycles fast, bright red text and my 1200 has ranged hillsides and trees out to 1305 yards. The clarity is crystal clear and has great magnification at 7x. THis is the last one I will own. Love it!"

Best there is...,August 11, 2009
By Anonymousfrom Alpine, Texas
"It is the smallest and best on the market. You can learn to use it in 5 seconds, where the Leupold I bought still baffles me with the 800 functions. You don't want that in a serious rangefinder. The lack of incline indication and calculation is a bonus. That stuff is marketing hooplah! At 500 yards with a 300 WSM, POI changes 5.2 inches when shooting at an upward angle of 30 degrees! Big whoop. Also, people who complain about it not ranging a deer at 800 yards are crazy. All companies measure the max range from "reflective" targets. Deer aren't covered in aluminum foil! Also, you shouldn't be shooting deer at 800 yards. For the few people that can successfully hit him, the real problem comes with finding the animal. Things look different when you arrive 10 minutes worth of hiking later... Buy it, use it..."

buy a tripod with this one,August 4, 2009
By kdje35nfrom Iowa City,IA
"Bought this for elk hunting. So easy to use, very clear lens, built better than my cheaper one, light weight and way smaller then other rangefinders out there. I was hoping this one would go pass 500 yards ranging an elk, but so far I can only range a house at 385 yards. You must have to hold it so still to range anything farther than 400 yards."

Review 13 for Leica Rangemaster CRF 1200 Rangefinder
"This thing is small and very accurate. Optics are superb, certainly in line with Swarowski, It is handy and very easy to use. That said I am missing a couple of features. There is no built in inclinometer which the Leopold has, and more importantly it only shows distances in yards. It would have been easy to include a yard/meter switch and very useful especially if you use it outside the US where very few people even knows what a yard is. Great product, but for the above reasons "only" four stars"

best of the best,May 5, 2009
By Leadlessfrom California
"This is the fourth range finder I have owned and the second Lica 1200 I have owner, the first one I had was the old style Bushnell which to big and only good to 400 yards, the second one was a Leopold TBR, which in my opinion was too complicated and too slow to give a reading. The Lica is very simple very quick and very accurate out to long distances, If you can affod it I would recomend it. The first one I owned I gave to my Outfitter as a thank you for a 190 class buck I shot."

Don't move,May 4, 2009
By cosdiv12
"Bought this because of the reviews I read and am not disappointed in the least. This range finder is clear, accurate, light and easy to use. MY only draw back is when sighting a distance of , say 600 yards , I shake too much and have to steady on something or use a tri-pod, other then that, this product is FAR better then I hoped and worth every penny spent. If you go to get a range finder, you should try this one. Even works with my GPS on the golf course. My golf friends love this thing, but it's not a toy for them."
