The only way to go!,November 4, 2009
By rbg1from Northern Illinois
"I bought mine several years ago. I didn't know what quality binoculars were until I got these. I was amazed at the clarity. Until I got these my experience was with cheap ones and all you saw was a magnified blur. I am able to glass in low light conditions and pick out details that I never believed was possible. They are very rugged and well worth the money. The auto focus is the only way to go. The only drawback with them is when you hand them to someone else they would not be able to see as well unless they would go through the adjusting process for their eyes."

"I have had a pair of these for 10 years and they work wonderful and are great glass. The one time adjustment for focus is wonderful. They stay on my dash all the time and have been all over the US hunting with me. I think they are great."

Steiner Military-Marine Binocluars,January 26, 2009
By Huskers1from Nebraska
"High quality optics solidly wrapped with with durability and robustness for the long haul. Although not specifically marketed for low light conditions, I was a little suprised at the quality of viewing in twilight and pre-dawn light conditions. For the dedicated back country/ high country / or blue water enthusiast, SAR personel, military, and maybe state and county law enforcement agencies"

AUTOFOCUS,July 26, 2008
By 50peacefrom Burlington, Kentucky
"I have had a pair of these 8x30 Steiner Hunting Binos for several years. Hunted Elk, Caribou, Deer, Bear all over the country and I have several words to describe these bino's. AWESOME, CRYSTAL CLEAR, TUFF, RUGGED AND AGAIN AWESOME. Once you use the auto focus you will never use another bino without it. So good I just ordered another pair of 10x50's. Everytime I look at binos if they aren't autofocus I go no further. Compact and also lightweight. Happy hunting."

Steiner's For Sure,January 31, 2008
By MOMINMO4466from A FLY OVER STATE
"I purchased these binos for my DH for Christmas. He really appreciated the fact that they're water proof, the optics are great and the eye pieces adapt to glasses wearers. The auto focus, I was skeptical, but it works great."

Nothing better for under $200.00,October 22, 2007
By DrewTfrom Charleston, SC
"Great binoculars for under $200.00 I have not been able to find anything which performs at the level of these binoculars within this price range. I think you need to spend $500 or more to start noticing a difference."

Good set of binos for eyeglass wearers.,June 25, 2007
By Pugnax
"This review is for the Steiner Military-Marine 8x30 Binoculars
As I must wear eyeglasses 100% of the time, I purchased these binoculars simply for the 20mm of eye relief. I can not get the full field of view out of standard binoculars since my eyeglasses pushes the focal point (eye relief) farther out than designed. Since I lose so much of the field of view, I was not able to use compact binoculars, until now!
The rubber eyecups on this model fold back to bring the focal point closer. Once I folded these cups back, I was able to obtain the full field of view from these wonderful binoculars! And for those of you who dont wear eye glasses, you simply leave the eyecups unfolded.
I was worried about the user reviews stating that their Steiner Military-Marine Binoculars fogged. So during a very humid day after a thunderstorm, I set the binoculars in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, then out on the back porch for another 30. I can report that the binoculars did not fog internally.
The optics are very sharp and clear compared to my old Bushnell 10x50 binoculars, and I absolutely love the rubberized armoring. I also love the fact that the eye caps/rain guard are attached, and thus cant be lost.
The only reason I downgraded these binoculars one star is that the rain guard (rear eye caps) do not fit with the eye cups folded down (as a man in my position will always have them). This is a frustrating oversight, in my opinion."

Internal fogging, not for wet cold conditions,January 18, 2007
By Giles77from Atlanta, GA
"I received pair for christmas and they were very clear and provided crisp images at firts. However, after a morning hunt with some rain, they fogged badly and the left tube had internal fogging. Steiner quality is not what it is advertised to be. They did not purge and seal the tube as they claim. Stay away from these if you hunt wet and cold conditions. Big diappointment."

Stiener optics,November 20, 2006
By clipperfrom British Columbia
"I would just like to say i recently purchased a set of 8x30 military/marine binoculars, it was a great investment. Small, light and easy to use. Theres no focusing involved, once you set the glasses for your eyes your good to go. There light and dont get soar from hanging around the neck, easily fit into hunting pack or coat pocket. Recently used them on a whitetail/mule deer hunt, had all types of weather, glasses went thru extreme enviromental conditions but came out on top. Great product if you ask me."

Excellent binoculars,November 20, 2006
By Amandafrom Tennessee
"Ok, picture this.... me (a city girl) standing at the sports counter trying to pick out some binoculars for my hard-core hunting husband. I had know idea what to buy, how much to spend, etc. I looked through several pairs of binoculars, each time staring through them out of the front of the store and across I-40 to the other side. Finally, after feeling embarassed because clearly I was out of my element and among other hard-core hunters laughing at me because I didn't know what I was doing, I chose to purchase the Steiner Military Binoculars because I could see people clearly on the other side of the interstate! I thought that was pretty cool. I surprised my husband with them when I got home and he was estatic! He had been using this no-name pair and no telling how old they were. Anyway, since he has gotten them, I never see him leave the house to go hunting without them and he loves them. Fields and woods surround our house and one night we heard coyotes and so my husband ran in the house and came back to the porch with his handy-dandy Steiner binoculars. We could see the neighbor's house down the road in the complete dark! We were both amazed because without the binoculars we couldn't see the house at all! My husband swears by these binoculars, and I do too because they make him happy. A couple of nights ago he was hunting and he called me from the field and said "you need to bring the truck and come get me". And I was like "why, are you stuck?" and he said, "no, I can't get these deer on the 4-wheeler." So, a few minutes later I drove to him and he was standing at the edge of the field, waving at me, with his Steiner binoculars around his neck. I was like 2 deer? He was like, "Oh yeah!" Before he picked the deer up to put on the back of the truck, he took off the binoculars from around his neck and handed them to me and said, "here, hold these, don't drop 'em." My husband loves his Steiner binoculars and although he won't admit it, I think they make him a better hunter. How else could he have gotten that second deer when it was almost dark?"
