You wouldn't think it possible to improve the Ultimate Bowhunter's Vest, but we did by using an even quieter fabric that lets you access all areas of the vest quietly. We also slimmed down the vest's profile. The rangefinder and binocular pockets are lined with thick fleece that nestles your equipment in secure cushioning. There are four zip-closure front cargo pockets with plenty of room. A front flashlight pocket holds a slim-profile light, and a wind-checker pocket is quickly accessible. When hands get chilled, use the two upper chest handwarmer pockets. To keep you hydrated, there's a water bottle pocket on the back and a rear GPS pocket as well. Also on the back is a large, zippered pouch affording plenty of room for extra gear or clothing. Inside are two security pockets for your wallet, tags and similar items. Imported. Chest Sizes: M-2XL.
Camo patterns: Seclusion 3D®, Realtree® AP HD®, Mossy Oak® Treestand®

Ok vest, could be better,November 6, 2009
By CamGfrom Derry, NH
"I've used the vest most of this season and I like it. It is functionally well designed. I thought that the pockets in the front would be too bulky, but they haven't gotten in the way yet. It holds a lot of gear, which brings me to the bad part. The material used isn't thick/tough enough to handle the amount of gear that it can hold. Mine already started coming apart at the shoulder, and I don't overdo it when I go out, just the essentials. I doubt that it will last me more than two seasons, which fell below my expectations for this vest."

Great Vest,September 15, 2009
By gostovpfrom WI
"I recently purchased this vest in Mossy Oak Treestand....finally I have found something to replace my stupid fanny packs and backpacks for my midwest whitetail hunts. Has enough pockets to hold your gear for treestand hunting, is really comfortable, and seems well made.
I don't understand the comments about the lined pockets in front being too bulky...I thought they were great! I have an older model bushnell yardage pro 800 rangefinder (a bigger model compared to today's smaller compact ones) and it fit in the front optics pockets just great!! no more stupid neck strap or finding a spot on the tree to hang it! I was able to draw my bow w/o interference from my bowstring no problem w/ optics in either pocket.
Also, I hunted opening weekend in WI this past weekend...humid and in the 80's and the vest was not too heavy or warm..it was very comfortable w/ a long sleeve t-shirt underneath....I am 240 lbs, got the XL, and will have plenty of room for layering in the upcoming cold days of fall.
I thought the vest was just great!"

"Vest is quite heavy and bulky and too hot for southern weather. I was wanting this vest to use during bow season in Florida and Georgia, but this item is not for warmer environments."

bad design,September 6, 2009
By martyartfrom Montana
"I was so disappointed when I received this. Been waiting two years to get one and it just won't work...here's what I think is wrong with this vest...the large lined pockets in the front for your binoculars use a button - never should archery gear use buttons- no time to fool with a button and if you are in cold weather forget it - always zippers or snaps. The other four pockets sit directly behind these two large ones so all your gear basically falls down in the same location (around your belly) and you have a very heavy weight forward situation instead of an evenly distributed setup (not good for spot and stalk or treestands). Instead of hand warmer pockets up high that is where the pockets should have gone. The water bottle netting is a bad idea it should be water bladder compatible, this vest is just not thought out - bad design and totally untactical. It would be great to have a vest that could carry things properly for day hunts when you don't need a whole pack. Returned."

Too much, yet too little,August 23, 2009
By Kalendrinnfrom 31, Spokane, WA
"I have been looking for a good hunting vest for a looong time. Tried many options from small packs to military vests. I bought a large thinking it was the right size and it was a bit big.
Cons:
* Too hot even at 3.5-4k ft elevation (even with inner mesh) * Large front pockets too bulky with berber lining * Slash pockets in front awkward and not really useful
Pros:
* Comfortable * Good construction * Nice back pocket and side pockets * Good for winter and carrying extra survival gear
Final Comments:
Would have been better to use a 100 weight micro fleece like their legacy fleece shirt. I always prefer fleece for quiet since I stalk and walk through bushes a lot...just tough to find anything cool enough, especially for warmer weather. Also, the large front pockets would have been better with a simple soft fleece or similar lining to keep access and clanging of contents quiet. Slash pockets are unnecessary and could probably be replaced with a set of smaller flap pockets. Also, the vest doesn't need the second set of zipped cargo pockets behind the berber lined pockets. It's easy to get bogged down with this vest.
Hope that helps someone. Ended up returning mine. Would retry it if they made my suggested changes."

Great vest for the outdoors,April 16, 2009
By MASHA34from Lower Gornal England
"I ordered my vest on the Sunday and it came the following Wednesday and was shocked at how quick this came. This vest is brilliant with plenty of space for all sorts of outdoor persuits. I will be useing mine for 3D shooting which gives me room for food and drink' a camera and my phone and in the back pocket I can store my fold up rain coat' what more can you ask for. Cabelas sold out of the APG cammo but I was pleasantly suprised with the tree stand that I picked. The large size is just that when it comes to US sizes and came up a might bigger than i would have liked' but that said the upside of that is I can wear this vest into the winter months over warmer layers as we don't seem to get very cold days in the UK anymore. To sum up a brilliant vest for my 3D and other shooting sports. If Cabela's stop making this garment it would be a crime. Mash"

got to pick a pocket or two.,March 30, 2009
By piercearrowfrom a retired Pierce, Idaho outdoor nut.
"A nice well made vest that will be great this summer, but there are not enough pockets. I mean a good outdoor vest has to have lots of pockets. This vest has cartridge holders, but my pistol cartridges sink out of sight in them so it takes time to fish them out (44 mag). I guess I should have gotten a Safari type vest."

Bowhunter's Vest II,March 13, 2009
By Elksnout
"I have 2 of the Bowhunter I vests...the 2nd edition was way too bulky and several seams came apart at the zippers...Quality was not the same as the first ones...had to return. In the future would like to see the MAX I camo pattern available, better quality, and less bulky padded pockets."

I like it a lot!,December 3, 2008
By SouthernVThunterfrom Vermont
"This is a great vest. I have only used it twice, but already love it. it is great for bowhunting. It has a TON of pockets. Probably more than 10! Only two complaints: 1) The two lower front pockets stick out and are really bulky. 2) the buckles on the back rattle. The rattle can be fixed by wrapping tape around the buckles. The front pockets are bulky, but not horrible bulky. Then never came in contact with my bow string while shooting. I plan to use it again for muzzleloader season to carry all my black powder supplies. I would give it a 5 star rating, but the two things I mentioned knock a star off. The functionality is great though. It could be improved by less bulky pockets in the front, but overall it is great. Buy it! You can carry all your gear... release, binoculars, rangefinder, camera, gps, cell phone, snacks, water, license, anything you need for a hunt. Paired with a medium size backpack you could hunt all day and bring everything you need! I really like it.
Oh, its good for much more than just bow hunting. It functions as a great big game vest bow, rifle, pistol, or muzzleloader."
