Viper ss,November 17, 2009
By Outdooraddict70from The Mitten
"The best climber on the market! It's easy mobility, makes it a great ambush stand. I have used all kinds of stands, and this beats them all hands down! Since the purchase of mine, my son will soon have one in his arsenal. This stand makes it impossible, for the deer to pattern you, becuase you are always at a different location. Set up is quick, easy, and very quiet. With the right tree, height is limitless. Very secure, and no thoughts about it slipping, while utilising a fall restraint. Should have purchased one a long time ago! For anyone that hasn't tried one, you owe it to yourself, to sit in the most comfortable, most versatile stand available.
Thanks summit Jerry"

"I purchased the Summit Viper SS and LOVE IT!! It is very light weight and easy to set up in darkness. It is very quiet and comfortable. I had a doe stop right under me recently and I was caught sitting down. I was able to stand up, come to full draw and let one fly with out the stand making as much as a little squeek. She never knew I was there. I like the way the stand rides as I'm packing it to my spot, and it is simple to strap together and pack out. I am 6'2 and weigh 240lbs. I am very comfortable in the stand and I don't feel cramped. If I shorten the seat staps, the sitting bar is out of the way while bow hunting. If I lengthen the seat straps, I can use the sit bar as a gun rest. I would definetly recommend to others"

"i BOWHUNT out of this stand. this is my first climber and i have already recommended it to a friend. its light, durable so far and performs exactly the way i need it to. i even pack extra gear on it before i put it across my back and carry it into the woods. i will however be looking into replacement cables as the rubber coting on mine is already starting to wear off. just a necessary part of the design."

Summit Viper SS Treestand,November 2, 2009
By bowhntrfor35yrsfrom Northeastern New York
"Excellent treestand...needs some minor modifications to make it perfect..I would suggest putting the camo foam on the stand where your feet go. Also the backpacking straps are flimsy...mine broke the second time out. I am using a different system now to lug the stand to my site. Also, use some liquid electrical "tape" to coat hooks that fasten the seat. If you let the hooks accidentally hit the stand it makes too much noise. This will quiet it down considerably. I am 56 years old and frequently carry the stand 1/2 to 3/4 a mile with my backpack attached. It is comfortable to carry, as well as a breeze to set up in the dark! The seat is ok and allows me to remain in the stand 8-12 hrs. I purchased the stand two years ago and could not be happier with my choice."

Summit Viper SS,October 31, 2009
By WJFFfrom NJ
"I had purchased this stand at another store blindly since I wanted a climber, and hadn't researched them, but I still give it 5 stars. Its comfortable and quiet once you get into the tree. Packing it in/out can be a bit cumbersome thou. The only complaint I have about this stand, is that its loud when you take it apart or put it together when the two halves clang against eachother, no matter how quiet you try to be. I purchased some self cling tape, and covered the majority of the stand tonight, but I need more to finish the job. Hope to try it out this weekend.
Its also a bit of a pain in the neck to try and put it back together after a shot and you need to get out of the woods to drop it off at your vehicle.
Other then that, I'd definately buy another one."

Better than I imagined!,October 13, 2009
By Huntress01from MI
"I have been using a cheaper model of a climber for four years now and decided to upgrade this year. I couldnt be happier with my choice. Not only is it half the weight of my old one, but tons quieter and unbelievalby more comfy to sit in. A little bulky walking in and out, but the spacious foot platform makes long stands a lot nicer. The foot sturrips make climbing a breeze. A little more padding on the shoulder straps are about the only thing they could add!"

very sturdy,September 10, 2009
By pcsolddogfrom Morehouse, Mo
"I have only practiced in my yard so far, but I can already tell that the Viper SS Treestand is very sturdy. It's also extremely light and comfortable. The only thing that I would change is the buckles on the back straps. They are way too small for a mans hands to operate. I can barely open them in the warm weather with no gloves. It would be impossible in freezing weather with gloves on."

Very nice stand,September 3, 2009
By Longsfrom NW Missouri
"This is a very nice stand to have. Very comfortable and secure, once you get it set correctly. Straps for carrying can get uncomfortable. The metal on metal is loud at times when carrying and taking apart. Must have the right size tree to work with. Sometimes its hard to set your platform and seat at the right angle. Overall a very good stand. Quick in and out once you get used to it!"

By adamst09from pella, wi
"I looked at a lot of different stands, tried them out and I'm very happy with the viper. Its little weight even when I have my back pack on it. Its quite when in the tree, climbs well, and very comfortable. I would tell anyone that asked me thats its worth the price."

"a person writing a bad review of this stand must have a really really tough time with any other stand since summit is the best ever made. its the quitest lightest strongest fastest most comfy and best to pack! really, you wont get a better stand. best to buy some aftermarket padded straps though. I hunt public land-you take it in you bring it out. the stand we choose is almost more important than the weapon! if your stand aint no good- you won't use it. war eagle"

"This is my first tree stand. The instructions and DVD were great! Everything you need is included. In other words, you don't have to go buy a harness or a tether or a safety rope or any other specific accessories. The stand is easy to use and carry on your back."

Summit Viper SS,February 22, 2009
By benhuntnfrom Waldorf, MD
"This is a great climber. I find it to be plenty roomy (6'/240 lbs). It is quiet and easy to pack. The back rest makes it comfortable and easy to sit in for long hours. I recommend the addition of the accesory pack for either the side or front. I also purchased the bow holder from summit directly. They are side specific for left or right and they do a great job of holding the bow secure. I have several API super grandslam stands and they are nice but not as comfortable and they weigh more. I highly recommend the Viper SS if you want a mobile, sturdy, quiet stand."

SUMMIT VIPER - GREAT BUY!,February 19, 2009
By ChopsINC
"I have been using the SUMMIT VIPER SS for about 3 years now. Until I bought my SUMMIT VIPER I was always building permanent treestands, I got tired of building stands and age is slowly creeping up on me (48) so I decided to invest in a climbing stand. I can tell you one thing, other than my rifle and my bow, the SUMMIT VIPER is the next best investment I have every made in ALL of my hunting equipment. The stand is everything you need to get you up the tree safe and secure, it's quiet as well. I'm a fairly big guy (6'3" 290 lbs.) and I usually sit in my stand for 5-6 hours and it's very comfortable. As far as first time users go, I purchased my SUMMIT VIPER the night before the first day of Pennsylvania bow season and was hunting out of it the next morning at dawn. It's that easy. I can go up a tree 20-25 feet and be ready to hunt out of it in about 4 minutes, it's that easy and that safe. I have never tried any other brand of climbing treestand but why would I? I like what I have and to me, it's the BEST on the market."

"Geez, why didn't I buy one before. I spent less and received much less. My summit is more than worth the extra money. Well made, even when packing in the woods, the support pad (seat) on my lower back made the mountian hike a breeze."
