"The only bad thing that I can say about this rest is that the arrow fletching at times seems to strike the arrow rest and cuts the fabric pasted on to prevent friction. Otherwise, the rest keeps the arrow aligned straight and never falls unless you want it to."

"This rest is easy to set up. Use the clamp provided and follow the simple instructions and you'll be set in no time. I do wish it came with some extra felt, because I did wear through it over time, but that's not a big deal. This rest is extremely quiet, and also the only rest to allow you to slowly let down without it dropping the arrow. Hunting with any other fallaway just doesn't make sense."

"I have put a couple thousand arrows through this rest (no joke) and it is still as tight and dependable as the day I bought it. You may need to get a little creative when adjusting it if you shoot a Hoyt but not a problem. Everything works just as it should and there is no noise or vibration. I thought it may be an issue if hunting in cold and wet conditions but if you keep it clean, it will take care of you."

"I bought this 2 years ago and have never had a problem. The main reason I bought it was because 2 years ago very few rests had the ability to stay in a locked position when not at full draw. This one does. I did not feel like putting extra arrow holders on my riser.
I do not know why anyone would by anything else. This unit MUST be tuned perfectly with your bow otherwise the locking mechanism will fail. My buddy's was not tuned correctly and had to send it back due to damage by fletching hitting the rest on every shot. This led to premature dropping of the rest. QAD sent him a new one at no cost to him."

"This is a very good rest but I would've given it a 4 if the arm that prevents the arrow from falling out of the rest were made from aluminum.
I recently went on a hunt in Louisiana and upon arrival to the field, I proceeded to sight in my bow but I had on a heavy jacket w/o my sleeve to prevent the material from getting in the way of the bow string. When I fired my bow, the string slapped the sleeve of my coat which caused the arrow to kick upward thus hitting that arm and completely breaking it off. I continued with the hunting w/o the capture part of the rest so I had to make sure my bow stayed in an upright position. I wish they would make the arm out of aluminum but all in all, a good product."

"Very quick set-up time. I really like how its designed, and it seems to fall away faster than other rests. My buddy got the Hunter one for $50 and he was having problems with it, so I got the pro lockdown, and havn't had the problems he's had (it does bounce back up for him). Also, if youre gonna use the clamp for the cable, dont tighten it to much, the plastic clamp will break before it gets difficult to turn. Easy part to rplace though, pro shop gave me it for free. Overall, best rest I've ever used."

"I had the former Catawba rest (now owned by Bowtech) and while it did all that it promised, I realized for anyone who shoots a lot, the bottom brush wears down quickly. This forces you to constantly readjust your sights and then when you finaly replace it, adjust your sights again and start all over. I took my bow into the pro shop and asked what they recommended. They handed me this little jewel and after installing it for me I took it home and shot it. I can't tell you how much better my groups look. I wasn't doing bad before, but there's a lot of comfort in shooting on consistent equipment so that when you do make some minor mistakes, you know it's all you. That alone, brought my shots tighter as I was able to concentrate on what I was doing rather than the bow. Yes, there's a click when you lock the arrow in but I'm usually already locked in before I see game, which is a great feature of the rest. I have had no fletching problems or locking problems with mine and like many others have pointed out, this may be the difference in having a pro install it. Even if later on I discover problems with it, I'll take it back to the pro shop and let them deal with it. I don't know what the difference is between this one and the hunter but if the hunter works as well as this one, increases accuracy and confidence, it's well worth the money as well. I would certainly recommend this to anyone wanting to get away from the 'brushes' or any other friend needing a new rest."

MINE HAS NEVER LOCKED UP IN COLD WEATHER. I HAVE HAD IT FOR 3 YEARS AND LOVE IT. IT IS HALF THE PRICE OF A RIP CORD OR TROPHY TAKE (BOTH GREAT RESTS BY THE WAY.)"

"I bought my rest 3 seasons ago. The first season it worked fine although I didn't hunt much in the cold. In the second season I noticed I had to work to get it to lock up and it didn't fall all the way down when released. This last season I finally had to change rests when it got cold to insure that it would not mess up an opportunity to shoot."

"I used this rest all early season, never had a problem worked fine but when it got cold it wouldn't fall away right, i could hear the arrow hitting the rest. shooting indoors it works fine once it has warmed up. love the features, if they fixed the cold aspect of it i would buy again, one of my buddies used the same brand, the company sent him a new one because it wouldn't work when it was cold, his new one didn't work either"

"I bought this rest and placed it on my bow it was easy to tune. I shot the rest for several months and began to have some minor problems with a internal component. I called them and took the product to their office, they replaced the rest without question. They will stand behind their rests because the truly believe in the product that they produced. I not only have their product on my bow but my wife's as well. If you are looking for a quality product look no further, worth every dollar."

"I put the Ultra Rest on a new bow in the fall of 06. I was initially dissapointed with the performance. The rest was not quick enough and the arrow fletching was catching the rest before it was out of the way. I had the rest raplaced and it continued. A quick call to the manufacturer took care of the issue. The rest comes with two arrow holders. One is 1/8" shorter than the other. After changing the holder the rest performed perfectly. The design allows you to tilt the bow if needed to take the shot and avoid a tree branch that may be in the way. The arrow holds nicely in the upright locked position and is ready for you to draw and fire. I would recommend this rest to anyone that is tired of the arrow coming off the rest when you draw. The added bonus is the pure arrow flight you will have."

"Upgraded from a prong/fork style rest to the fall away because my arrow feathers were hittin the rest. the prongs were leaving marks on the feathers and throwing the arrow off corse. i wanted to shoot helical for better accuracy with a broadhead. My groups went from 8 inch plate size to, golf ball size. The full arrow containment is quiet, but not as quiet as a bisket. *Must have a qualified tech install*, then it is hassle free. the single best upgrade annyone can do for accuracy."

"I have been using the QAD LD on my Matthews Switchback XT for about a year. I love it! I have found it to be very quiet and have had no fletching contact problems as compared to other drop-away rests. I also like the fact that it allows you to do a slow let down from full draw without the forks dropping the arrow. I would recommend it to anyone.....its worth a look."

"I have read these reviews and I have two of these. I have mine on a bowtech tribute 80lb limbs and a switchback which both out shoot a Hoyt on speed according to specs so I dont know what that guys is talking about. Maybe his bow is set up wrong. I also had one hang up and lock on me but bow shop had another one on in 10 minutes and I set my sight and I was off to the races again . Everything breaks. I judge and review on how fast the company fixes the problem. Also the attitude they have when I deal with them.Q A D is very good to deal with over the phone and pro shops dont even ask questions they just fix your problem."
