worked as advertised,June 26, 2009
By cowboyd4from Clovis, NM
"I bought the Kelty Tarp to take on a weeklong backpacking trip along the Appalachian Trail in the Great Smoky Mountains. We slept 3 adults under the tarp 3 nights and had plenty of room. The tarp was also relatively easy to put up, although I would recommend having extra parachute cord, as it only comes with 3 tie lines. Most impressive was our last night staying in it. The wind was blowing at least 30 miles and hour and it was so foggy that by morning the condensation was raining off the trees. However, I put 2 sides of the tarp, low to the ground and it almost completely blocked the wind. Plus there was water pooled on the outside from the fog, but we stayed dry as could be under the tarp. It worked great and I look forward to using it again."

True test of product,April 28, 2009
By eldridgeartsfrom Obadiah, Mississippi
"The first time I had the opportunity to use the Noah's Tarp and the Adjustable height tent poles was a true test to product durability and quality. After having set up the tarp and poles at home to familiarize myself with assembly a few days before, I embarked upon a planned trip deep into the Mississippi woods knowing that severe weather was a high probability that night. But why let major thunderstorms spoil the plan?!
With winds gusting up to 40MPH and 50MPH at times during the night and heavy blowing rain the Noah's Tarp and the Adjustable poles held tight providing my small backpack tent the extended shelter I had hoped it would. All remained dry and weathering the storm until about 4 a.m. when the real winds came through the camp. With the ground rain soaked from hours of driving storms, the higher winds proved to much for the included aluminum stakes. Their smooth shafts gave way with a strong whirling 70MPH wind gust and pulled the forward stake from the ground launching it 40 feet away; not to be found until daylight and clear skies found our campsite later that morning. However, the Noah's tarp never tore nor show signs of being stressed at any point from which it was bound. If I had used the common yellow plastic triangular stakes, I am sure the structure would have held even in the highest winds of that storm filled night.
I am, to say the least, overwhelmed with the quality of these products and would highly recommend them to any serious outdoorsman. Why, if it weren't for the large biting insects found down here, I would feel quite comfortable sleeping with just the Noah's Tarp as cover."

White water rafting,April 25, 2009
By MTNVIPERfrom Colorado
"This is the best 'river wing' for the money. White water rafters like to carry what is called a river wing. Shelter from rain or sun. This is a better product, serves the same purpose but for 1/2 the $. the 16 footer with a couple of 10 foot oars on the ends and four 6-7 foot poles as side supports provides plenty of room to cook and eat under. When I'm camping/rafting I get my most wow is this great from the Kelty Noah's Tarp and from my home made hand washing station. Cooking and eating out of the rain or in the shade, with clean hands makes any trip a lot more fun."

This tarp is actually WHITE,March 10, 2009
By Frydenfrom Norway
"I bought this to be used as a concealement/camp/shooting position while hunting. The tarp looks green on the promotion picture (which would be great for my intended use), but in reality the tarp is white. Not exactly the best colour when the whole point was to be concealed in a green forest... :-) Since I live in Norway, sending this back to Cabelas would be an expensive endeavour.
The tarp itself: Great quality, really light, and the 12" tarp is more than big enough for two people++. This is a great buy if the colour doesn't matter!"

kelty noah's tarp,November 3, 2008
By welvwdwfrom Springfield, IL.
"Used this while camping in Washington DC during the Marine Corps Marathon. I encountered rain 2 of the 5 days that I was there and must admit that I was amazed at the performance of this tarp. I set it up to cook inside in the event of rain. We had rain for 24 hours straight and then again for about 8 hours the next day. My gear stayed dry under the tarp and I had plenty of room to crawl under and relax, read a book, and do all my cooking. If I had to have stayed inside my back packing tent during this whole time after running the marathon i would have been miserable. The Kelty tarp allowed me to stretch out and enjoy myself during the wind and rain."

Noah's Tarp,October 22, 2008
By kari61from Bailey, CO
"We used the Noah's Tarp while at 12,000+ ft. elevation in Colorado last week and it performed wonderfully. The downpour of rain, snow and sleet we experienced were held at bay by the tarp and we were able to hunker down comfortably by a small fire until the storm passed. The only improvement I would suggest for the tarp would be to make it in various camoflauge colors and also hunters orange. I wouldn't hesitate a bit to purchase another tarp should I ever need another one."

tarp,June 23, 2008
By mattbwcawfrom Lino Lakes, MN
"We used two of these together this year in the Boundry Waters to make one large gear and rain tent. They worked great. They are so, so much lighter than a normal tarp and they take up almost no room in a pack versus a regular tarp of equal size. It was great. They also stood up to constant wind for 5 days without failing in any way. And they performed well against the rain we did have. Worked great for us!"

Great product,May 25, 2008
By upnorthwhenican
"I took this tarp on an ice out Boundary Waters lake trout fishing trip. The wind was whipping as we were setting up the tarp and it was blown into the fire for a second . My new tarp! But I was astonished to see not even a smudge on it. I guess it really is fire resistant-not that I would intentionally test this aspect, or expect it to survive for an extended period in a flame. We had no tent, this was our only shelter, but it shed rain and snow and kept us dry."

"I found the Kelty Tarp to be exactly what I wanted. The only question I have is how well it will fare when rubbing against a load or limb after extended use. It's light weight is really a surprise. I am using it mostly as a cover when canoe camping."

Great Quality, fun to use!,October 8, 2007
By JT80from Lakes Region, NH
"I was set on getting the Cabelas XPG wing, but read up on Kelty's tarp. It's light, well made, waterproof and works great. I tossed the included cords and used cabelas parachute cord instead. If set up well, it's wind and weather proof. I'd reccomend a tarp or tent footprint for the ground to go with this."
