"Haveing used all the types in this line, it is interesting to note that many feel these are the end of the line, the final product or result. Well, that's just not true!
Bland you say? Try adding something of your own to it and spice it up.
Coating and not a batter, you say? So what? It works well on fish, chicken, pork, mushrooms and many other things.
These coatings/batters are just the beginning of what will make a wonderful meal.
Would I recomend these to a friend? Sure."

"I tried the "lemon" fish fry last night it was so spicy I could not eat it. I spent alot of money on some very nice expensive fish, only to have it completely ruined by this product. It was even to overpowering for my husband who happens to like spicy hot food, I had to throw it all out. There was nothing on the box at all to tell you this product would be hot and spicy. It was not supposed to be cajan style, however I think it was, and the labeling was wrong. This was NOT "lemon".I will never buy this or any other food item from Cabela's."

"This stuff is great. I soak the fish in milk and then coat it in a ziplog bag with the breading. If I don't have the Cabela's breading, we don't have fish until we get some. I use the Cajun."

"All four flavors of fish breading were excellent tasting and 3 0f the 4 cooked up extremely well and did not burn the bread mixture when fried. Although the cajun flavor, after it was cooked, was not as stiff (crispy) as the other flavors. I hope more seasoned flavors come out in the near future, as I would like to try them as well."

"I tried all the Cabela's fish fry coatings and all were good but the Seasoned version stood out. The coating texture seemed to be better and a little more crisp, but it tasted significantly better also. After trying it,it's the only one I buy now."

"The rating is based on the overall four-flavored product. I ordered all except the Cajun. The only one of value is the Original Seasoned. It is excellent. It is a cornmeal-based coating (not a batter) that fries up crisp and with an excellent taste. Its ingredient list says it uses corm meal. The original and the lemon are just some flour-based mix that will make a poor batter. Their ingredient list says they use flour, not corn meal. To make batter, you must mix them with milk, egg, etc. Otherwise, they fry like a biscuit - soggy and bland. If you want a fine crispy fish coating (it is sure NOT a batter), get the Original Seasoned. It is as good as it gets. Forget the others."

"Helo, I was refered to your product by a good friend that I fish with on a headboat that fishes from Bowers Beach Delaware.I found that the fish breading is the best I have tryed so far.I used it on Black Sea Bass and this weekend I grilled fresh Yams and Eggplant with it also and it good real good.I ordered several boxes of it and gave one box to my neighbor and he liked it also.I hope you will keep it in your catalog so I can get it in the future.Thank You"

"I bought this because it was described as fish BATTER. It is not, it is a coating. I wanted to use it to deep fry Alaskan halibut. I havent even used the product yet. It might taste great, but for those who are buying this because it is advertised as a batter, might be disappointed."
