"I have owned two of these housings. Had no problems with the first one for 2 yrs. bought the second one to install on my new boat and the mounting bracket broke within about 1 week, and moisture got inside housing from the 1st rain. Had to dry out the housing and seal it better and made a bracket out of aluminum. Seems to be o.k. now."

"Its a great product. I like the way it looks and works. It was a real pain to put the water proof seal on as others have mentioned. I had to get my bride to hold one side while I held the other. Once I got her together, it worked perfectly."

"Very water resistant... A tip on getting the gasket to stay in place, put it on the main box then use scotch tape to hold it in place till you screw the 2 pieces together, then just trim off the tape on the outside of the cover..."

"Everything was good with the exception of the waterproof gasket. The gasket was too small. It had to be treaded into the groove and had to be held in place. The gasket was a real pain."

"The housing was easy to put together except for the gasket o-ring that kept slipping out of the groove when I tried to seat it around the rear housing. The only other short coming was the number of leads going through the back cover. Aside from the two RCA jacks and the antenna jack, there are 10 leads going thru the case. Using two leads for ground and power and the remaining 8 for left and right speakers front and back, you find you're one lead short for the wire going to the ignition switch. Fortunately, I only ran two speakers so I had three unused leads. Lastly, I find that the back of the case looks messy with all the different colored wires hanging. I'll probably end up wrapping the leads in white electrical tape."
