not coast guard approved for watercraft,August 25, 2008

"This is a good functional light but it is not Coast Guard approved for navigation. With the red and green lights, I assumed that it would be legal on the water. It is useful but if you plan on using it to be legal on the water you will be disappointed. A paper INSIDE the packaging states that it is not Coast Guard approved. This should be on the outer packaging and mentioned in the description."

"Great for having in your bag when coming back a bit later than you planned. Used a freinds last summer, had to get my own for the up comming season. Green\Red mode works great for marking your kayak in lo light conditions. Great gift for any, open water kayaker."
