"I opted to replace my old pump, after it gave out, with one with higher volumne. Both pumps were the same size which did not require any extra drilling for installation. This pump works great and is a great deal for the price."

"This is same pump that came on my 21' Sweetwater Pontoon boat, which was set up with fishing seats and livewell. Original lasted from 2005 until just a month ago, when it started screeching and freezing up. Now all is well again, and I assume I'll get another 3-4 years out of it. Excellent for the money -- good deal."

"I just bought 2 pumps one to replace the live well pump and one for the bilge. These pumps are direct replacement pumps for the factory ones. Just change the cartridge and go. Takes just a few minutes. Works great."

"I don't mind telling anyone my story about the use of Mayfair Cartridge Bilge Pumps. I've searched numerous locations looking to find a suitable bilge pump replacement for the Johnson pump that stopped working while 60 miles out in the Gulf of Mexico during a recent fishing trip with friends and family.
I found Mayfair on the Internet and decided to order a replacement pump. Not knowing the performance of this pump, I put the pump to the test. While fishing near my favorite oil rigs, my boat took in a little more water than needed but I was not concerned as my new Mayfair 1000 GPH pump kicked in and performed VERY Well for the conditions that day. I would recommend this pump and standby it performance.

"A good pump. I replaced all of my pumps in my bass boat over 6 years ago and these mayfairs work great. Once installed you do not need to worry about removal and reinstallation issues like stripped holes or the need to drill new holes. The only issue I have is the difficulty in buying the replacement cartridges which is the reason I gave it 3 stars. Afterall, that is supposed to be selling point of this system. Many of the merchants that carry the pumps do not carry the cartridges making it difficult to take advantage of the convenience of the replacement cartrige if you need to replace it in an emergency. Otherwise if you can wait for the replacement cartridges by mail from Cabela's or are willing to buy a spare when you buy the original pump from Cabela's, it is a great purchase due to its great performance and compact design."

"This is a great bilge pump my boat came with the 1250 gph so when it froze and broke this past winter I replace the whole pump because I coundn't find the replacement cartridge in 1250 gph I found 1000 gph but i didn't know if it would fit in the housing for the 1250 gph. I will purchase another one if I need to replace it."

Mayfair 500,

"The 500 Bilge Punp was very easy to install, it had complete instructions and very easy to read and follow. My old pump was a Mayfair, it was in my boat since 1984, and it would still be working if I had not broken it with my anchor. My 500 has never failed me and pumps water when ever the need is there. All my other pumps are Mayfair and do a great job. The price is right and service is great. The Mayfair 500 works for me."
