Pack-In Trip,November 3, 2009
By Ken57from Minnesota
"I used the pad on a pack-in hunting trip and was very pleased with it. It rolls up small and easy to pack and is lightweight. We pitched our tent on snow covered ground and the pad worked great in keeping the cold from seeping through from beneath. It is hard to find level ground to put your tent in the mountains, and it didn't slide on the tent floor so kept me from sliding off it during the night."

Poor quality,October 16, 2009
By Brian1111from Western Colorado
"This is a great product when it doesn't fall apart. The cover material separated from the inside cushion while on a camping trip. This created a large bubble at the foot of the pad. The bubble was the width of the pad and about 4" high. I was unable to sleep on the pad. A sleeping pad shouldn't be something you need to worry about failing when you are camping and I've noticed this seems to be a recurring problem with this pad. I would hope that Cabelas would fix this problem but I haven't read anything stating they have improved the quality."

Small and slippery,October 7, 2009
By Goatgetter
"Unless you're a very petite person or extremely strapped for space go with the larger size--I got the medium. I can't imagine how small the small is. And when are these companies going to offer a slide-free surface? When paired with a slick mummy bag and slightly sloped campsite it makes for a great toboggan run...wheeeee! How often are you going to find perfectly flat ground when out in the wilds? I woke up in a balled mess in the corner of the tent."

Fantastic lightweight pad.,September 1, 2009
By sheephuntincowboy
"Wish I had this the last 20 years. Worked wonderfully on cold ground in the Yukon. Lightweight, plenty big, warm, extremely compact when rolled.
One of the better "new" products I have used in years."

Cabela's XPG sleeping pad,July 14, 2009
By Justyfrom Grand Rapids, MN
"I bought this pad in addition to the more expensive Therma-Rest pad that I had bought earlier. This pad functions just as well at a much better price. They are not quite self-inflating as they are advertised, but they are easy enough to put a few big breaths of air into to fully inflate. I'm not a small guy and can sleep quite comfortably on the 1.5 inch pad. I hope to use this pad for many more years to come."

Great Product,July 12, 2009
By Flyingpackmanfrom Utah
"I have only used this pad for 5 nights, but so far I give it my highest recommendation. It is small and lightweight, but it provides adequate comfort during a backpacking trip so that I got a good night's sleep. It is more comfortable than some of the thicker (non backpacking) pads that I have purchased. Thanks for a great product. (I have the XL size)"

Ultralight Sleeping Pad Fails On 1st Use,June 27, 2009
By AMCCamperfrom Texas
"I purchased the XPG Ultralight Large Sleeping Pad after reading the reviews.
I was a little concerned about the reports of the outer cover separating from the foam pad, but I know Cabela's has good products.
During the 1st night of use, the outer cover separated from the foam pad & formed a big bubble at my feet. Clearly, Cabela's has quality control issues with the manufacture of this product.
As a result of this experience, I cannot recommend anyone purchase this product until this manufacturing defect is resolved.
In all fairness to Cabela's, what I liked about the pad was: 1) It is light 2) It packs up small; and 3) It is very comfortable.
If I could be assured by Cabela's this defect was corrected, I would not hesitate to purchase this product again or recommend it to others."

Pad broke first outing,May 18, 2009
By Anonymousfrom Colorado Springs, CO
"I took this pad overnighting and the first night the material that glued the insides together came apart and turned the pad into a balloon. After that it was useless to sleep on. Returning and looking for another manufactorer, hopefully it was just my pad that was bad but after 2 nights of sleeping on hard ground, I don't want to chance it."

Great Backpacking Pad!!!!,May 11, 2009
By JustinFfrom Santa Maria, CA
"I used this pad on a 3 day 18 mile climb/hike. This pad combined with a lightweight sleeping bag of another brand pack together into the lower compartment of my backpack and still allow room for some other smaller items. Like others stated this is not "self inflating" and blowing it up is a little challenging because it does not have a one way valve, but its comfort and size make up for it. It would say it packs down to the size of a small football."

XPG Ultralight sleeping pad, regular,February 24, 2009
By Roadkingbillfrom Northern California
"My 11 year old son and I recently used this pad on a snow camping trip. My first use was a little uncomfortable because I didn't inflate the pad enough. My second use was greatly improved, because I blew up the pad as firm as I could. The pad works well when properly inflated. I'm 6 ft, 225 lbs. and the pad stayed under me all night as long as I was on level ground. The pad is not self inflating as they claim, but I will use it again. My son has the same pad, and he liked it. I really appreciate the light weight and compact size. This will be good when we start backpacking this spring. Just make sure you blow it up firm."

Good sleeping,January 25, 2009
By stevejill91from Fort Worth, Texas
"I am 6'1, 245lbs and I do alot of camping. I have purchased Therm-0-rest and Pacific outdoor pads and they were ok but I usually brought along an extra role up mat as well. I tried this Pad and the 4 times I used it I slepped very well. Not once did I feel the edge of the pad which wakes me up when I do. You can blow it up and you will not feel the ground. Add a blow up pillow and your nights will be pretty comfortable. I have used this mat in 20 Deg. weather without problem. If I do have a problem with it I know Cabelas stands behind its products and this comes from experience."

Ultralight Sleeping Pads,December 30, 2008
By WarMachine
"These were purchased for our grandchildren ages 10 and 7 for when they go camping. They like them so much that they have been 'camping out' in their bedrooms on the floor every night since they got them.
At first we were disappointed because they seemed so flat and hard and then it was discovered they should be blown up for the very first use. I wasn't there for the first trial run so I don't know if there were directions for use or not. We were going to return them until it was discovered they should be blown up. Now the grandkids say "no way" to returning them!"

Disappointed,November 28, 2008
By Ltjohnfrom Bangor, Maine
"I bought this pad hoping to use it for camping while hiking or canoeing, but it failed on me the first time I tried it. The cells in the end started to pop open and failed like a domino chain. I returned it and went with a Cableas Alaskan Guide model instead. I am a large guy 6'2' and 230 lbs so it might just not be suitalbe for a bigger guy like me."

Ultra Light Sleeping pad,September 26, 2008
By Jadrewfrom Rockford IL
"This pad is very comfortable and surprisingly compact. I have and have used other air pads. If you take the time to blow extra air into the ultra light pad it is every bit as comfortable for a lot less weight. I just returned from a camping/canoeing tripp to Canada. This was my best new equipment purchase."
