Sweet 223 works for me,

"This scope is a good deal for the money. Once I got my gun sighted in properly, the 3-12x40mm scope has been deadly accurate at 75 to 175 yards in combination with my Savage 223. The four woodchucks formerly making swiss cheese out of my property have been summarily eliminated.
The one criticism I have is that the instructions for sighting-in that come with this scope are generic for several different models BSA makes, and could be a bit confusing. The instructions for windage adjustment (turn clockwise to move point of impact to right) are not correct. Go by the arrow marked on the dial of the scope itself which indicates turning counterclockwise to R.
A great scope for varmint hunting at a sweet price."

First impressions,

"Overall the scope is nice. It is very easy to get dialed in on my gun. One drawback is that the interchangeable cams on top of the scope are not splined, they rely on three tiny allen screws to hold it in place. You really need to be aware of this or you could strip them out and would have difficulty retrieving them. I would like to see a design change on this product that would make this an excellent scope."

"I put this on a .223 and did not like it the allen head strips out and i was not at all impressed when i shot it i put 25 rounds through it and sent it back its just a cheaply made scope."

"I haven't messed with it very much yet, but i put it on my AR15 and it seemed to hold zero very well. The focus ring works amazing. I haven't had much time to mess with the yardage adjustment but I'm sure it will work good as well."

"I love this scope.. I did have to buy a Picatinny Rail to mount it to my AR15 so it would be above my iron sights. I sighted it in at a 100 yards.. clicked the it up to read 400 yards as was plinking at 400 yards just like that.. dialed it right back to 100 yards and was right on the money… nothing left to say but.. Sweet !!"

"Yet another great buy from Cabella's. I am a Burris fan at heart, however the purpose for which I will use this scope, I had to give this BSA a try based on the price.
I'm not dissapointed in the least. Very good quality scope at a very reasonable price.
I have been dealing with Cabela's for about 30 years and have always found their products to be of high quality at a very reasonable price."

Great Idea- Decent Execution,

"This design was a great idea, but was only a decent execution of that idea. The focus is poor and the screws that hold the drum to adjust the yardage do not stay tight/ are impossible to get tight without stripping. Other than those two things, I like this scope. The yardage change is fairly accurate. It is very good for coyote but anything smaller than that would take some guesswork. I also wish the 6-18x 42 was a 50mm objective."

"I purchased this scope for two reasons, it was economical and it had a target turret designed specifically for the 223. The socket head screws that set the turret are made of aluminum and stripped the first time I tightened them. Poor Design."

"I bought the 6-18x scope for my ar-15. The first one I got from Cabelas was ok, if you weren't looking anywhere near the direction of the sun. The focus was great. When you did look near the sun what would happen is the scope would look all cloudy white. It was impossible to see any thing. I talked with Cabelas and I decided to do an exchange. They were very easy to work with. (2 thumbs up)
After I got my replacement scope I checked it out before I even mounted it to my rifle. Same thing. All cloudy white toward the sun. And this is not just within a few degrees. It is more like 30-40 degrees either side of the sun. There was also a new problem with the replacement scope. The image was always out of focus. I tried messing with the close focus ring and got it set as best I could, but I just couldn't get it all clear. The range focus ring would change the focus for the yardage but it would never be clear and crisp. So I did a return due to the quality being less than expected.
All in all, I will still rate Cabelas 5 stars. Their service was outstanding. The problem was not their problem and they did everything possible to make it right. Thank you Cabelas!!"

"This is a good scope. I was skeptical at first to even buy this scope because it was so inexpensive. But was pleasantly surprised. If you want a scope to plink with and don't want to drop $600 to over a $1000 on a high end target or tactical scope this is for you. Thanks Cabela's."

"I recently purchased a Mini 14 Ruger Ranch Rifle and began my search for a good scope. Having already bought a Sweet 17 for my Marlin 917 I decided to try the .223 model. After mounting and firing several 3 shot groups I found it was all I could hope for. It was very acurate and precise with 1/4 in MOA adjustments and suprisingly clear for a scope costing just over $100. After sight in at 100 yds. I moved to 200 and set the top knob for that range and dropped 3 rounds (1 1/2 in group) dead in the center. Great value for an inexpensive shooting tool."

Decent scope,

"I bought this scope for my AR-15 and it is a pretty good scope for the money. I mounted it in a LaRue Tactical mount and it was actually dead-on straight out of the box at 100 yards. I ran about 100 rounds with it and it held zero perfectly. I was able to hit anything with the built-in yardage dial. The 6x18 is very nice. The optics are clear enough. I wish there was a bit better focus. There is a built in focus based on your yardage, but for far shots, I couldn't quite get it focused how I would have liked. This may have been because I was shooting late in the evening into dusk. Overall, it seems like a really good scope for the money. I don't like the screw-on lense covers. I will definetly get some caps. The only other complaint was that the dial that you mount for the specific grain bullet you are shooting, wouldn't mount on straight. I tried it several times, but once you have tightened it on the scope there is really no forgiveness at that point. It is going back to that position no matter what you try. It doesn't affect the performance of the scope in anyway having it mounted slightly crooked, but was just a minor annoyance. Overall though, I say for the money this is a scope that I will have a lot of fun with and should perform quite well. For the price I am very satsified."

"I just recently bought this scope and I tell ya it hsa very similar result's to the 17HMR scope. Also if you want a good set of ring's for this I recomend the Warne scope ring's, they are made of steel and hard to strip out the screw's. Just make sure you go to the bargain scope mount page. They are cheaper."
