"I purchased this scope from the store for my marlin 917 vs. Pretty darn good scope for the money. I have a few hundred rounds through it now and still right on the money. I have used all of the adjustments many times and this scope is still zeroed in. Very happy with the money I spent. If your concidering a tactical scope for your .17 hmr definately concider this one."

Disappointed,
January 14, 2010

"After reading some of the other reviews on this scope I was somewhat apprehensive about ordering the scope. I have a friend with a Pine Ridge scope on his 3006 and he has been satisfied so I took a chance and ordered. After mounting the scope on my Savage .17 and bore sighting I took it out to the range. Up to this point I was completely satisfied with the concept and appearance of this scope. After shooting over 200 hundred rounds of ammunition (three different brands) I am convinced that this scope will not hold zero. It might shoot two to three shots in a close pattern (3/4”) at fifty yards and then the next two rounds go three inches left or high etc. I was shooting from a Otters rifle rest and also had two other people who have .17 caliber rifles try to help me sight in the scope. We all agreed that this scope has a problem. Cabelas quickly refunded my money upon return. I have ordered a different scope from Cabelas and hope it performs better."

Tactical .17 a Joke,
October 19, 2009

"I purchased this scope couple years ago and put it on my Brand New CZ 17 HMR and at first this scope was pretty good but about a year ago I took it out to shoot it and it wouldnt even hit the paper so I had to re-sight it in. After that I laid the gun down let it cool and picked it back up and it was off Again!! Im sending it back to cabelas tomorrow and hope they will take it back. As long as Cabelas will stand behind their products I will purchase more of them But would not reccomend this product to anyone."

"Cabela's staff reccomended this item, so I decided to give it a try and must say that I am pleasantly suprised. This is a great scope for the money! The quality seems to be well above average when compared to similar competitive models."

"This has been a good scope through 3 months and 200 rds. This includes the normal level of being bounced around in tranport. It has held zero. I did use steel Weaver 4x4 quad lock rings. My only complaints are: 1. The set screws, for locking down the turret adjsutment dials, are a little to soft. You have to be careful nhot to strip them. A better metal should be used. 2. Should come with a more complete installation and operation instruction manual."

"I've used the scope a few weeks now and I'm generally pleased with its performance. It holds zero. Its brightness and focus are ok considering the cost of the scope. A set of simple instructions and tech. info would come in handy as well, it comes with none."

"bought the lower power side focus scope on sale. while the optical clarity isn't up with Nikon or Leupold, it is way better than BSA or Baraska for repeatability and warranty. buy one for your 17 HMR. you should be happy."

Tricky but good,

"Bought a 17 HMR from Savage Model 93R17BTV and i am very pleased with the gun. Scope mounted with low rings and was relatively easy to sight in. Had some issues with the windage getting it adjusted but once it was zeroed the ballistics were dead on. Shooting about 1" high @ 200 with the low rings. I would suggest getting taller rings, when on at 100, about 2" high at 50 and back on at 25. Med rings would get it to crest @ ~75, high rings @ 100."

PINE RIDGE TAC. .17HMR ON MARLIN 917VT,
June 30, 2009
By SRF1
from las vegas, nm
|
"I purchased the 6x18x40mm and have been mostly pleased. My only problem with the scope is that the relief is very tricky at higher zoom levels. I chose the more powerful zoom so that I could see where I was hitting the paper @ 100yds without having to walk down to the target after every shot. And for that, once you find the sweet-spot in the relief, the 18 power works well with realative clairity. All in all for the money-alot of features and would buy again. NOTE: I needed slightly taller scope rings than standard 3/8 40mm for the bolt to clear the eyepiece when removed."

Great scope, but not ready to go out of the box,
May 30, 2009
By 0311grunt

|
"I was very eager to try this scope out on my Savage 93. But trying to zero it proved to be a more time (and ammo) consuming task since the factory settings had the windage and elevation cranked to the extremes, so I was not even hitting paper. Once this problem was identified and fixed, this scope has been absolutly amazing. Holds zero and is extremely accurate. bullet drop compensation works as advertised and can hit P-dogs and small varmits at 150+ yds. the zoom is great, but anything past 10X under 150 becomes hard to find when transfering from Binos to scope since its magnified so much. but to each their own. Awsome scope for .17 shooter."
