"This fall was my first oppertunity to use the case. Used it both for mule deer and elk hunting. My rifles traveled in style. They were secured to the point there was no movement what so ever. Yes the case is heavy, how ever the piece of mind that my rifles arrived in camp as I had packed them is worth it for me. Its my plan to purchase a second case, for an up coming moose hunting trip with my boys. Bottom line is this "You get what you pay for". For the price you will pay for this case you will not be disappionted."

"Its not called "heavy duty" or "do-all" for nothing. Excellent stability, security, and structure for transporting rifles anywhere! And if your worried about paying for the extra buck at the airport, this case isnt the one...but you pay for the assurance that your rifle AND case will safely arrive at your destination with no problems. Plus, if your shipping your guns to Africa or Australia, its well worth the extra few bucks at the airport for what you get out of the hunt....if not, you should really consider a different hobby!"

"This case is way to heavy, 41 pounds empty. Although it is well made and has some good features (recessed handles and lock closures), if you put two African big game rifles in it, it would weigh 60 pounds. Wheels or not, it ends up being big and heavy for one person to handle. ...end...."

"I used this case to transport my rifle to South America and while I was traveling within south america. You can tell than it was mistreated on the flight; lots of dings and deep scratches but the contents were not damaged. Also, despite being mistreated on the flight it still functions perfectly and only suffered superficial damage. This case is VERY heavy. I transported one rifle and scope in it, no ammo, and it came very close to the 50 lb weight limit. I would imagine that with ammo and 2 rifles in it, it would certainly entail a surcharge to get on the plane, but heck, I'd rather my guns be safe and pay the surcharge. This case locks TIGHT, there is NO MOVEMENT at all of the gun. I have not had to adjust the scope while using this case. It stays spot on. Definitely a little pricey, but so are my guns and the time I'd have to waste re-calibrating the scope and replacing damaged guns. I highly recommend this case."

"I had my rifles in this case on top of a luggage carrier when we were in a bad accident. The vehicle rolled and sent all the luggage on the roof flying. The gun case was found 75 yards from the vehichle with scrapes and scratches but no dents or holes. When we arrived at our destination and opened our case the guns were un-harmed and the sighting was dead on with the scope. This case is a definate buy."

"I got the case to hold 2 rifles. Case is well built but when 2 rifles are in, it is very hard to close the lid and it feels like I am putting alot of pressure on my scopes. 1 rifle feels fine when closing lid.
If using 2 rifle case for 1 rifle-very good.
Not sure I like the tightness placed on my 2 rifles/scopes. They are definately not going to move but sure have to put alot of pressure on case lid to close!!!!!"

"This flight case for a firearm appears to be excellent, I have not used it yet. Will use this December to Iowa. It is very heavy Appox. 32 lbs. empty. If you are an older person the weight my be a problem even with the wheels, it will put a lot of strain on your forearm when toting. But all in all I believe it will keep my equipment safe. It is like what musicians use to transport thier delicate instruments and cameras. Now I have noticed if I were to wish to stand it on the end that the wheels are on it will not stand firmly, there are hard rubber stops but it does not stand straight up & down (vertical), you (I) will have to lean it against something to support it. So I (you) would be better off setting it horizontal on the ground (floor). Last the handles do and are spring loaded and recessed which I like however the location of the TSA lock will protruding past the outside edge do to the location of this feature, this will most certanly get hung or caught on something it the loading & unloading process of the plane. We will see!"

"I needed a gun case for a bear hunting trip to Maine. I went on the internet and looked at all the cases cabela's offered and then read all the reviews. this case came out the best, the only bad review was it was to heavy. Seeing I was flying to Maine and it would be in the baggage compartment this didn't seem to be a problem when the case arrive and i saw how well built it was I was very pleased. "Yes, this case is a bit heavy, but that's because it protects your guns so well. After having 2 lesser metal cases practically destroyed on much shorter trips, I purchased this case to protect the 2 rifles I was taking on safari to Africa. I just got back and had to write this review. My rifles didn't budge and the case has nary a scratch, and that's after 6 different plane rides. I didn't pack my ammo with my rifles (check with your airline), but I did include my shooting sticks and a few small tools and I did not go over the weight limit."

Yes, it is heavier than you might expect, but if you're flying across the country (or across the globe) you can rest assured that your long guns will not suffer any damage on their trip. It's a pricey case, but so are my rifles. "22-7928: This case is heavy duty! I stood on the case (all 230 lbs) and the top did not even flex. I particularly like how the handles, padlock tabs & butterfly locks are recessed. Another feature that is very useful are the two recessed hinge locks which keep the top of the case from hyperextending when fully opened. Even though the case is heavy when loaded with two scoped rifles (near 50 lbs), I know they are well protected."
