Poor quality control,
November 5, 2009
By alaskaruger

"I bought two pair of these mags for my Mini-30. With my past experience with Mini's I figured I would get at least one that would fit and function. I did get one that worked out of four. the welded-on tab on the back was at four different heights on four different mags. I was able to file the others to work. Returning from Alaska was more bother than fixing them. Note: on ruger mags this same part is stamped out, not spot welded on."

RUGER MINI-30 20 RD,
September 18, 2009
By Anonymous
|
"I RECENTLY PURCHASED AND RECEIVED 2 - RUGER MINI-30 20 RD MAGAZINES MADE BY NATIONAL. THE MAGAZINES ATTACHED GOOD, BUT WHEN LOADED THEY WOULD NOT FEED PROPERLY. COMPARING THE DIMENSIONS TO RUGER MAGAZINES, THE NATIONAL MAGAZINES WERE OFF ENOUGH TO SET THE BULLET TO LOW TO FEED PROPERLY. THESE MAGAZINES ARE JUNK ! SEMPER FI , TOM"

Not worth the money,
August 20, 2009
By shooter15

"Looked good out of the box. That is where the good ends. Mags don"t load well. First round goes in fine but as you try to put the next round in the preceeding round slides forward and out of the magazine. I only loaded 15 rounds into mine and every time the last 3 rounds wouldn't feed. Tried both clips with 3 different AR-15's (two bushmaster and one DPMS). Same thing every time. Last three rounds would not feed. EVERY TIME! Never had a problem with any other mags. Only good for paper weights."

"I purchased the 30 rd mags for the AR-15. I went shooting this weekend and these performed just as well as the original Colt mags. Which is to say, there was no problem. They are easy to load and feed without problems. What else is there to say?"

M14/M1A Mags,
March 29, 2009
By Kelby
from Brookings, OR
|
"I ordered six 20rnd mags for my M14/M1A. Compared to my factory mag they looked nearly as well made. The weak point was the locking tab at the back of the magazine that holds it in the mag well. One tab broke off the first time I used the mag. None were welded on well with gaps between them and the body of the mag. Cabela's was great about shipping out a replacement for free but I decided to send all back because the same thing will happen to the others."

Junk - again!,
March 10, 2009
By SendIt
from Fort Myers, Florida

"Poorly manufactured. Out of six two acutally fed the first round into the chamber. Then would jam. This was my third purchase of after-market mags for Mini-30, from different companies. None work. This is the downside of owning a mini-30"

Replacement Rifle Magazines - Pair for Mini 14,
March 9, 2009
By JoeyBang
from Northwestern CT.
|
"The quality is fine on these mags. The only problem is that I'll have to do a bit of gunsmithing to remove some material from the bottom of the metal tab that the Magazine catch is supposed to seat on, as it is the mags will not seat into the rifle. They're at least 1/8th inch too long. Pretty loose tolerences!"

mini-14 mags,
February 17, 2009
By OutdoorDog
|
"I bought two 20 round mags after reading the reviews. I was a bit skeptical, but the price was half of the name brand, so I gave it a shot. The first one fit snug like you want it to and snapped into place. It cycled flawlessly all 20 cartridges. I snapped the next one in and it fit snugly like it should. It cycled 10 rounds and then stopped. I pushed down on the front of the top bullet which straightened the follower down in the mag and shot five more, then it quit again. I pushed down on the top bullet and finished the mag on the last five cartridges. I may be able to fix the second mag by merely pushing down several hundred times on the follower to break it in since it seems to drag on the back side of the cartridge. Since factory mags are twice the cost, I got what I paid for--one good mag and one that I will have to tweak to make work correctly. I am confident that I will have two good mags when I am finished."

Mini 30 Mags,
December 20, 2008
By kiapet06
from Phoenix, AZ
|
"Disappointing. They do not fit the mini 30 very well. ended up having to force them in, just to get the mag to lock in place, from that point on it was jam, clear, jam, clear, jam, clear - all the way through 30 rds. don't waste your money on after market magazines for Ruger's Mini 30 or Mini 14 (my dad got them for the mini 14 and had a worse issue w/improper fit - but he was able to file them down in a few places and though the fit is still extremely tight, they seem to work/lock in place)."
