"This leather cartridge case is very nice in my opinion. I looked around for quite a while for a high quality shell holder for .30-06 shells. Almost all other vendors have switched to nylon cases, but I wanted leather for the durability, classic looks and...well I prefer leather. This is a high quality item that does it's job well. The shells fit snuggly, but are easily removed. The snap closure works great; secure but not difficult to engage or disengage. Belt loop is sewed on well. In short, I think this is a great product and I expect years of service from it. Well worth the money."

The carrier is tight, the cartridges do not move or make any noise. It is comfortable to wear, and it is very accesible. "I used this carrier for 3 weeks straight and it was worth the money. The leather is quite stiff, which is a good thing. Here is a tip...put your cartriges in the carrier to loosen it up prior to using it. This loosened it up enough to get the cartriges in and out easier. Good quality leather, well put together."

"When I ordered this ammo holder it specifically mentioned that the long model would hold the .300 weatherby cartridge. Maybe it could accomidate a 30-30 cartridge but it didn't come close to my .300 weatherby. It didn't even hold my .300 win. mag cartridges. I was very disappointed. I didn't realize this until the evening before elk season opened while in camp getting ready. I was glad that I had other ammo holders with me. Beware before you order one of these for a large caliber rifle, you may be holding your extra rounds in ytour pocket."

"This one will take some breaking in. The leather is thick and sturdy so it is a bit stiff to close. The dual snaps are tricky to reset but I expect that to be easier with wear.

"I bought this for 30-06 Springfield cartridges. It has the classic aesthetic I was looking for and held my ammo securely without flipping open. The leather is thick and seems to be of high quality. I can imagine this product would last a lifetime if you took care of the hide. Far better than stuffing loose shells in your pocket, especially if you hike mountains all day like I did."

"I have one in both the large rifle and magnum sized. GREAT. 10 round fold over with snap closure. Heavy duty stitching and generous belt loop on back side. All leather, no cheap elastic. The magnum fits my .458 Lott rounds perfectly and the large fits my .30-06 rounds great. My advice is to struggle and stuff the rounds in and let sit for about a week so that the leather can stretch to the size round. No rattling or clanking because of individual seperators between rounds. Buy some for friends and family just because of the quality and rediculously low price in comparison with other high dollar brands. Best quality I have seen in a leather product in a while."

"this is a classy cartridge carrier, and half the price of the Galco. I used cordura models in the past but decided to splurge and don't regret it. Holds shells tight (its real snug when new but molds itself around shells like a custom knife sheath does). Bullets won't fall out even when open. Snaps takes some getting used to when carrier is full, but snaps are quiter than velcro. Gets easier to line up snaps when folds are creased and broken in). Scratches and scuffs come right out with minks oil. good stuff"

"So good I bought two!! One for my .270 and one for my 7mm Magnum. Over the last 20 years of hunting, I have tried every kind of cartridge carrier imaginable.. Everything from an elastic band on the butt-stock, to loops on my sling, to a makeshift pouch on my backpack strap, to finally just carrying them in my pocket (cling, clack, cling, clack). I decided to give it one last ditch effort and try this cartridge carrier. I love it!! The problem with carring your shells in a band on your rifle stock or loops on your sling is that when you have to reload in a hurry, you have to move from your shooting position in order to get the shells out to reload. And, when I carried them in my pocket, I somehow always managed to lose shells... I am a right-handed shooter and found that with this pouch on my right hip, I was able to pop it open, grab three more shells and reload my bolt action without ever having to take my eye out of the scope and off the target... I will confess that it did take some practice to get to that point... I also found that I could leave it open if I was in a hurry chasing something (God forbid after 6 shots) and not lose any shells... The Cabela's Leather Hunter Cartridge Carrier seems to hold them tight even when it is open. And the best thing is that the shells don't clack together and scare game off."
