Great spoons,June 16, 2008
By Trollfishermanfrom Cape Cod
"I use both the Bouyant in three patterns from Thomas and and also one of the other models from them. All in 1/6th oz. I've taken local trout from our ponds, nice Browns from NH Rivers, Lakers and Salmon in Northern Maine lakes with these series spoons. Wouldn't leave home without them, in both the Perch and Blood Red with gold backing color schemes especially.
I'm headed back to Moosehead lake in Maine in July this year ( 08) and will be sure to have a few of each along with me. I caught several salmon last year up there on the red spoon and both lake trout ( toque) and Land Locked Salmon this past May at a reasonable length of around 18" or so.
All spring long the perch pattern has been great for local Rainbow Trout. Have caught some really nice fish this spring trolling that lure when others seemed not to produce much ! I keep a good stock of these lures on hand on the boat."

Thomas Buoyant Red/Gold,May 30, 2008
By MunsunganFisherfrom Taxachusetts
"Outstanding lure! Fished it in late May 2008 in northern lakes of Maine along with my trusty flyrod and 3 die-hard flyfisherman. The lure outcaught all other methods 5-to-1 ...landed some beautiful landlock salmon and native brook trout. Salmon loved it. The flyfisherman cursed it! Recommended highly ...it was recommended to me by some Concord, MA pond fisherman. Tight lines!"

Thomas Buoyant,May 6, 2008
By Anonymousfrom Michigan
"I don't know how these things work yet, because I've only thrown a couple in a kiddie pond where there was no action. But my buddies rave about the Thomas Buoyant, so I'm excited to try them on a real trout stream this spring. As far as the Cabelas experience, 5 stars because I can't find Thomas Buoyant locally, the product was represented well on the internet, the shipping was very fast. Overall, a very good shopping experience. And, these lures are really good looking lures. I hope the trout think so."

Best lure money can buy!,March 8, 2008
By Troutlanderfrom Central Valley, California
"Trout love this lure! This is hands-down my favorite lure. When vegetation behind me doesn't allow me to use my fly rod, I use Thomas Buoyants with a spinning rod and reel. I honestly don't know what it is about them, but they dramatically out-perform every other lure I've ever used. Every color works, but the Nickel and Trout colors are my favorites, followed by the Red/Gold and Blue/Silver. I recommend a 1/4 oz. size. All trout go after them -- small, big, and huge. My biggest so far was a 5 lb. 2 oz. Rainbow with a 1/4 oz. trout colored lure. Thomas Buoyants are the best-kept secret in the mountains (behind the Trout Teaser). If you want to catch fish, use these lures."

go-to-lure,December 25, 2007
By troutsmasherfrom Ca
"After taking an 8 hour drive to a resevoir that's tucked away and full of big 16"+ trout, i found that they weren't havind any of my live worms, power bait, kastmasters, roostertails, mepps, you name it-i tried it.Bottomline, I tied this little beauty on and after a half hour had a few big fish to prove it. My buddy stuck to his usual lure and was skunked until he tried this. An hour later we both had our limits."

Bouyant is Dynamite,November 21, 2007
By bkc1040from Texas
"I have used the 002 1/4 oz. spoon in Arkansas and Colorado fishing for trout. This lure is fantastic. In Colorado I was fishing around 4 other people who were using live bait and I used the Bouyant. I caught 8 trout in a little over an hour and everyone else only caught 2 fish during the same time.
I highly recommend this lure."

The best trout lure ever,June 29, 2007
By AAVMECfrom Oregon coast
"I have used this lure all over the US with great success. My Grandfather gave me my first one and I have already filled my son's (age 8) tackle box with them. This year he caught his first trout with the #3 from shore then again while trolling. I have fished rivers, lakes and ponds from New England to the west coast including Alaska. I have even caught salmon with it."

finders keepers,June 22, 2007
By ilovefishingfrom manchester, IA
"i found this lure lying on the ground by my favorite trout stream. i tied it on and caught a trout on my first cast. while the trout was flopping around on the hook in the air the hook split and the fish fell back in the water. it may be a good lure. i will know as soon as i buy one. the one i found may have been defective or else the company needs to seriously think about replacing the hook that they use on this lure."

Thomas Buoyant Spoon,February 7, 2007
By drewtroutmasterfrom Edgewood, Iowa
"I use the Buoyant all the time and have excellent luck with it. I catch 95% of my trout on this spoon, the other 5% I use a whole nightcrawler. Recently I caught a 4lbs. Brown Trout that I was trying to catch for 3 months. There are many days I catch more than 15 trout, many times I catch the same trout more than once. The only way I use this product is catch and release, because I have so many hits and catches. I own 18 Buoyants, 3, 1/6oz. rainbow trout, 3, 1/6oz. gold red, 3, 1/6oz. nickel and 3, 1/4oz rainbow trout, 3, 1/4oz gold red, 3, 1/4oz. nickel. This spoon is designed to be thrown far. The Buoyant is made to mimmick an injured minnow and the natural instinct of the trout is to eat an injured minnow. This spoon even works for ice fishing in a jigging motion. I highly recomend this product to everyone that wants to catch alot of trout in a hurry."

Winter Jig Symposium,January 24, 2007
By SmalljawBlasterfrom Decorah, IA
"The Buoyant spoon to many is know as just a trout spoon. NOT TRUE. Although very effective for trout because of its long casting ability, it also works wonders for smallmouths in moving water. Key is to always keeps its flair showing all the time with timely twitches and jerks. As for the trout, its a great lure for beginer trout fisherman who do not always bring a stealth approach to the stream. Use a medium action rod with this lure in any condition, and cast as far upstream as you can and retrieve in a vertical postion while twitching and jerking the spoon on your retrieve. It may not be finese fishing, but it will land you a limit of trout, or that big brown upstream still waiting to bite because your presence is not notice because of the long casting ability."
