Info about Replacement Tips!!,October 28, 2009
By JRJ41from Saint Charles, MO
"DEAR CABELA'S, at this point in time, you do not sell the replacements--please allow this information so that others may benefit from it.
This is a good trekking pole with an anti-shock system for the price, but the compass is non-workable.
Re: Rubber Tips Search for replacement trekking pole rubber tips (there are also travel covers--NOT what you want). Most should work. Some attach with friction and are tighter than the original one. I didn't check, but threaded ones may work, too (using friction only). Usually comes in a package of two, so will have an extra for the price."

"Very nice staff for hiking. It is light but very strong. Lock up is easy when extended. I like that is quite short when collapsed."

Hiking Staff,October 19, 2009
By CaptainSatisfiedfrom Eastern Washington
"This staff does the job I need it to do. The clamping system for the adjustable length is a bit fussy and some reviewers had trouble with it sticking. As long as I paid attention to the limit labels marked on the shafts and fiddled with the shock absorber correctly, I had no problem adjusting the length.
I'm happy with the product."

a more stable hike,August 24, 2009
By jancranfrom central KS
"loved my hiking staff - first time I've used one - have a bit of a balance problem and it made my hiking in CO on vacation much more enjoyable - like the telescoping feature, but I did have a bit of a problem shortening it back up if I happened to pull it out too far - had to be careful"

"The items I orderd to assist me in walking after a femur fracture and surgery are just what I needed. They are sturdy, giving me a sense of security as I use them. They are very attractive and leave me feeling like a regular athlete as I set out on my walks. Because they are made of aluminum, they are light weight, but give me good use of my arms without tiring me as I stride along. I am so impressed by how quickly they arrived after ordering. Thank you."

Missing and Broken Parts,August 7, 2009
By xtremeblugfrom Wheeling, WV
"After using on a couple of hiking trips, the shoulder strap broke at the base of the staff. I was able to re-tie in a knot, but it no longer functions the same.
The rubber stopper at the base of the pole repeatedly came loose until it was eventually lost somewhere on the Mt. Whitney trail. The pole is difficult to use without the rupper coated bottom."

Trekker Hiking Staff,August 4, 2009
By showme319
"The staff seems sturdy enough, but it always bugs me when I buy something and there is just some little thing that is wrong. Something so small that you feel a little cheated but not big enough to be worth the hassle of the return. I was not interested in buying a compass but the handle compass was one of the advertised features for the staff. I bought two of these things and, even though I would never use the handle compass on either of them, both compasses fail to point north. If they would have left the compass off of the product I would have felt good about the purchase, as it is, I feel a bit disadvantaged and cheated."

Must have on long hikes,July 23, 2009
By recordbookfrom PA
"I've learned after several backpack hunts that a good walking stick is helpful. After years of constructing my own out of the first good branch I came across, it's only practical to get a hiking staff. It's can be compacked when needed and very light."

"Poles worked great, very adjustable and have good handles on them. Would of given them 5 stars but the attachments on the bottom are a little cheesey and I have not used them enough to determine the quaLITY. OVERALL SEEM TO BE A GOOD PRODUCT."

Trekker Hiking Staff,May 12, 2009
By mommy42from Montana
"I bought this to use as a stretching bar while on vacation. I tested it out at home first to make sure it was going to work. I"m happy with the performance - it was easy to open and close and is sturdy enough for me to use in a "windmill" type of stretch. I like that it folds down to approximately 2 feet. It will fit easily into my luggage. Great product! I have not used it while walking or hiking yet - but I may do that this summer."

"This staff will satisfy most casual walkers. The length is adjustable and holding the staff is quite comfortable. The staff gives a feeling of security and the ability to avoid tripping on steps or rocks. You can also use the staff to point out items of interest to friends who are walking with you."

"I used this walking stick on one hike and then it never worked again. The middle telescoping section is jammed in and I cannot get it to extend regardless of how I twist it or pull it. So now the walking sticks extend only at the bottom section and are now tall enough only for children. I received the walking sticks as a gift; however, I still feel like they are a waste. They are very temperamental."

"Walking had become extremely difficult for me because of the pain in my knees. I swayed from left to right which made the pain worse. I had been walking with a cane which helped me a little. A friend had me try her hiking staffs and I immediately order two. Now I can walk with out swaying back and forth and my knees hardly bother me at all."

Trekker hiking poles,January 27, 2009
By Geoffreyfrom Upstate New York
"Great poles for the money. I used them snowshoeing and they performed very nicely. I did not check the compass in the handle for accuracy, nor would I rely on it. I carry a regular field compass for that. Anyway, a good buy !"
