"I originally bought this combo as my first ultralight setup. I wasn't sure if I would use it much or even like ultralights and didn't want to spend much money to find out. The rod itself is pretty nice considering the price. The reel is not all that great but it works. The reel already shows signs of problems with the auto bail flip. If you fish small streams for trout and panfish without an ultralight I'd say this is a good combo to try for the first time. After using this combo regularly for the past month I am certain that I will be purchasing a higher quality ultralight setup. I am now hooked on ultralight trout and panfishing due to buying this inexpensive combo."

Rod snapped like a twig,April 10, 2009

"I was really excited when I bought this rod (the micro rod/reel spinning combo) as it was very lightweight and the reel seemed like it was quality. On my first day of trout fishing the rod tipped snapped like a weak twig. I barely had any pressure on it when it snapped. Highly disappointed. I'll be taking it back to Cabela's today and I hope to not encounter any issues with returning it. I saw that most of the reviews on here for this rod/reel combo were positive but I did notice one other user whose rod also snapped like mine did. Now I know his experience was not a fluke!"

"This is a good combo for the money.I fish with small bluegill jigs tipped with beemoth.This pole is sensitive to bites.You can really feel the fish biting.I have caught alot of nice bluegill and crappie with this pole."

"used this combo less than a day. Set the hook on a bluegill and the rod snapped in two. The bail of the reel if casting at a fast pace tends to close by itself with the snap of your wrist. Or you cast and halfway through the cast the bail closes. VERY VERY frustrating. I can send the rod back to get replaced free but its not worth the cost of $7.50 to send back. A stick from a tree would work better. I fish more than 360 days a year and use other ultralight rods daily. I wouldnt buy this combo for a kid even. They deserve better...Just a piece of junk."
