primal flats boots,November 18, 2009
By eloy
"Purchased for a flats trip to Great Harbor Bahamas. Liked the idea of a hard sole and arch supports. Very comfortable, but the sand that leaked in, stayed in and built up under my arch. A better design would flow through. Resorted to a wading shoe that worked much better (and cheaper.)"

Bite shoes comfortable,July 1, 2009
By jbmoorefrom Dothan, AL
"I have not fished in these yet but they are true to size and are very comfortable. These shoes are actually owned by crocs and feel great. I didn't give 5 stars because I haven't waded in them yet."

going bone fishing,June 18, 2009
By FlyR
"I bought the Primal flats boots to use while going bonefising. They provided good support for the 7 hours I walked and stood searching and waiting for bonefish. I also felt my feet were pretty well protected walking around on the flats from coral and other seen and unseen creatures in the ocean. My only complaint would be the small area around the ankle where the velcro could chaffe the skin (maybe not a problem since I didn't have any when out in the ocean, but seems like it could cause a problem). They did a fine job, only if they could make flat boots not look so ridiculous to other non-fisherpeople!"

Flats Boots,June 15, 2009
By McADAMSfrom AMARILLO, TX
"I just got back from a 2 day fishing trip on the coast which consisted mainly wading for specks and the boots worked great. I would recommend that BITE figures out a way to design the sole to where it wouldn't come out everytime you take the boots off wet. That's the reason for 4 stars instead of 5."

Bites on Mountain Creeks,April 16, 2009
By stretchpupfrom Arlington, VA
"They fit great (Size 9 was spot on) and may just be more comfortable than my normal shoes (Merrills), no joke. They seem very well thought out and crafted, and designed around foot support and comfort.
I'm using them wet wading on small creeks and they are perfect."

"I have just returned from a trip, having worn these for the first time. Difficult to get on, wet or dry and useless on a boat because of all the straps etc."

Bite Primal flats boots,July 8, 2008
By bigboy61from Buffalo, NY
"I love the fitting system and the recomendations for a proper break in. they work great."
They withstood harsh treatment over sharp coral in the Seychelles, at the same time offering a great deal of ptotection and comfort.
The first pair I bought were too small but had no hesitation in replacing them for the same."

Great wading boots!,April 15, 2008
By JPW5from Gulf coast Fla.
"When i first put these boots on i was instantly impressed with the quality and comfort. Once i put them on i could have worn them all day, they fit that good. When you are in the water i did not feel any sand or anything getting inside. They are very pricey, but well built. My feet are worth it. Would definitly recommend, and would buy again!"

Comfort out of the Box,March 29, 2008
By PeterAfrom Margarita Island, Venezuela
"I purchased a pair of Bite Primal flats wading boots for 7 day Bone fish trip on the caribbean flats. On my first day out I was pleasently surprised when my professional fishing guide was wearing a pair of the exact same boot I had brought along on my trip. Of course I immediatly asked him how he liked them, and to my joy he answered that after wearing just about every wading boot on the market he would not wear anything else. The only compliant he had was that they did not last as long as he would like them to. His boots were about ready to be retired after 4 months of extreme wading almost every day. he did mention that past clients had used them for years without unusual wear and tear. I promised him I would write a review in hope that a manufacurer representive would read the review about the sides of the boot giving out way before the soles did and re enforce the side material. I used my boots for seven days of walking on the flats for miles over every imaginable terrain with out scracth to my boots. The only reason I gave these boots a 4 star rating his due to the wear on his boots after only 4 months. When I asked my guide what size he wore he replide my size. I got such a laugh out of this that on my last day of fishing on my way to the airstrip I handed him my pair. I would recommend these boots for anyone who is going to do some serious walking on the flats."

Primal Flat Boots,March 25, 2008
By wlack88from Charleston, SC
"I have used these boots in rivers, ponds, and spartina marsh flats and they have greatly exceeded my expectations. They keep my feet completely clean of sand and silt, hold tight in deep pluff mud, and provide the necessary protection from sharp rocks and corals. They are comfortable during an entire day of fishing, both in and out of the water. I always look forward to using them."

Great in the water BUT....,March 18, 2008
By Fubared
"This was my first trip flyfishing for Bones (in Belize). I am old and fat so the guide may have kept me on the boat more and in the water (wading) less but he didn't say so. I am given to understand that the wind near Ambergris Caye, Belize blows from one direction or another at 10-20 knots most of the time. It certainly did the week I was there.
About 80% of the time that I was fishing I was standing on the foredeck of the boat. The wind blowing as it does insures that the stripped fly line blows against your boots fairly regularly. I found that while casting I would frequently catch the fly line on one of several (unnecessarily, in my opinion) exposed parts of the boot.
While I agree that these boots are very comfortable in the water, I cannot recommend this product for anyone who fishes in the conditions I fished in Belize."

"These boots are the best I have owned for the flats. They just performed beautifully on the flats for a week in the southern Yucatan. They handled limestone, coral and marl with no problems. Great support. Fully recommend this product."

Bite Flat Wading Boots,February 20, 2008
By Revdrewfrom Tennessee
"Okay, here is the deal. I just started into the fly fishing. I had been looking for sales on wading boots. A few things I wanted; no stings, easy on and off, comfortability, all seasons use and of course cool looking. I have found this boot to meet my expectation. I cannot speak to its durability yet since it is fairly new but I have enjoyed it. The price was a bit step for me but I had been told how important the boot is to the process so I choose to make this investment. This boot fits very will and walks tremendously comfortable. Adjustable straps keeps the foot snug regardless of wader stocking type, and included insert souls make for adjustment to foot as well. Was an excellent choice for me."

Excellent Flats Boot,November 13, 2007
By Kempshifrom Tampa, FL
"I wade saltwater flats in the Tampa Bay area and south. This is a very good-to-excellent boot. Light, comfortable, easy to clean, and quick drying. They are a pleasure to use. If I have any complaint, it is with their durability. I only get about a year (60-70 day-long trips) of use before the sole falls off. I write this off to the fact that I wade in muddy areas vs. sandy ones. Overall, best flats wading boot on the market, I think. I'm on my third pair."

excellent,September 11, 2007
By hiflierfrom hayward, california
"i like the bite primal flats wading boots, i hope your company makes different types or model of this boots."
"Haven't used them yet but I know they will be great on the flats. Construcxtion quality seems high and fit & comfort are top notch. My only criticism, and a minor one at that, is that I would have preferred that the Velcro ankle closures & the ankle strap closure be on the outside of the ankle/boot instead of on the inside so that when you scuff your feet together while wading, the velcro closures &/or strap do not catch on each other and possibly open."

comforatable,June 25, 2007
By hunter2093from corner brook, NL Canada
"Overall the boot is very lightweight and comforatable. I made the mistake of ordering too small. I had to wear them because I never tried them on before I got to the river. Anyways could'nt send them back then. After I had them on for a little while, they seemed to stretch so worked out OK. The only problem I find is they are a little slippery. I'm gonna have to get felts for the bottom."
"I do a lot of flats wading here in Boca Grande, Florida for redfish and snook using a fly rod. These are the best boots I've ever owned. I have used sandal-type with a closed toe, but they get stones between the sandal and your feet-very aggravating. I'v also used sip up type boots, but you tend to wade right out of the boots in heavy mud and they also attratct stones due to the absence of any closure around the ankles. The Bite boots, with three closures, are comfortable to walk in, are good in mud, and they absolutely keep out the stones."
