Inshore salt water fishing,September 1, 2009
By Saltwatercreekfanfrom Johns Island, SC
"Every Rapala lure I ever owned has looked great, been well balanced, and well made. This one is no exception. I use it for spotted seatrout (weakfish) and redfish."

Rapala Twitchin'Rap,February 3, 2009
By reddog39from St. Louis, Mo.
"This is a premier plug for snook when the water is too cold for topwater fishing. The plug can be worked slowly enough to stay in the "strike zone" longer than most intermediate plugs. And, the fact that it has no lip means it usually only is worked at a depth of no more than two feet, which in the Everglade National Park is perfect. I've caught many snook and redfish on this plug and it's only drawback is the fact that after a few fish the balsa wood fails to stay together on usually the trailer hooks. Incidentally, we change out both treble hooks to 4x strenght hooks as the hooks that come with the plug are unacceptable for snook or redfish as they will straighten out on larger fish. Other than that it's the best intermediate plug I've ever used and easy to cast with 14 or 17 pound test line.I"

Awesome Lure,March 7, 2008
By SouthwestFloridaFlatsfrom Pine Island Sound, Florida
"The Twitchin' Rap is the best lure for fishing the shallows. It runs 0-2 ft deep. If you work it fast, you can keep it up above the turtle grass. Redfish absolutely love it and will inhale it. Trout holding in shallow water love it as well. I have seen several 40" plus Snook caught on this lure. We went fishing recently in Pine Island Sound. The three of us were using it in Olive Flash color. We caught 25 Redfish, 7 Snook, and 11 Gator Trout between 23-27" all on this lure. This and soft plastics are my GO TO lures for fishing the Flats!!!!!"

Excellent mid running twitch bait,January 7, 2008
By FishTfrom Florida
"In this category of plugs, I generally fish the Mirrolure Catch 2000 Jr very successfully for snook, reds, tarpon, trout, etc. Friend gave me one of these and it was as good or better - excellent action when rod tip is twitched - good color selection with the chartreuse the best (same as Catch 2000 Jr). Would suggest replacing factory hooks with heavier saltwater hooks.
For casting, I fish 8lb plug casting tackle with Shimano 250 series plug reel and one piece graphite casting rod - custom with 12" foregrip to butt (fishing club rules).
I have not fished these plugs in fresh water, would suggest that they would be very, very effective."

Great for Backwater Stripers,May 16, 2007
By Aquaman37from Narragansett, RI
"This lure works very well for striped bass in my local salt ponds and marshes. Worked with a twitch and pause retireve the schoolies were all over it. Surprisingly, despite its small size and weight, this lure casts exceptionally well, even into the wind. Overall the lure catches fairly consistantly, even when other artificals have gone without a sniff. Just don't expect to catch your fish of a lifetime on it."

shallow,November 20, 2006
By willinsfrom st. louis mo.
"I live on a lake in eastern missouri. The end I live on is the shallow part of the lake so I have to use topwater lures or lures close to the surface. This lure is perfect for that not to mention it catches fish. I caught a 5.8 pound bass with this lure. I will always have one in my tackle box"
