Most versatile fly ever,May 11, 2009
By tread684
"This is without a doubt the best kept secret in fly-fishing. [Not for long] These micro jigs catch more fish in a wider range of species than any other fly I have used. So where can I find micro jigs that are up to the rigors of saltwater fishing. Cause I went though a card of these striper fishing in New England this past weekend."

Jig heads,January 5, 2009
By ORflyfisherfrom Cleburne, Texas
"These jig hooks are great for tying flies, the point of the hook rides up and they get deep quicker than traditional hooks. I use them for all freshwater species, I first started using them for white bass in Texas, simply tie some crystal flash on these jigs for a tail with orange thread wrapped up the body, whip finish and epoxy and your done, extremely simple and deadly for "sand bass". I also tie all kinds of other wet flies on these hooks for trout."
"They catch fish - tied them in several colors and caught trout, sunfish, perch, largemouth bass. Everything seemed to like them. Easy to tie and fun to fish. Give them a try."

Fly jig heads,November 12, 2007
By ELMO913from Union,Mo
"Maybe not for the purist but if you want to fish deep with a floating fly line they work very well. Ride hook point up assuring good hook-up. Capable of easily being turned over on a 50+ foot roll cast with a 4 weight. Gets down to the fish very quickly even in fast water. Just use with any of your favorite nymph patterns. Bass. bluegill, shad, walleye, trout, even catfish with your favorite fly rod. Use a 5/16-3/8 float and watch the action."

"Great fly tying item. Will catch most fresh water fish tied in white, brown or black marabous. Especially good with strike indicator. Rainbow trout love em.
Tight ones, Yak fly"

Jig Heads,May 1, 2007
By JBauerfrom White Bear Lake, Minnesota
"I love these jig heads and they were hard to find. The nickel plating attracts fish while the thin shank all the way to the head allows me to slide on minnow imitating bodies (others, too!) without the heads being bloated. If the body becomes worn and slides, a drop of super glue usually holds it in place while I slaughter a few more crappies, sunnies, etc."

Fly-Tying Jig Heads,November 22, 2006
By SnoBoyfrom Bryan, TX
"I bought the 1/80 ounce heads in gold and created a Woolly Bugger type jig. It was olive with green Krystal Flash and ice chennille.
I got a chance to try it out on the Llano River (during the Oktoberfisch event) in the hill country of Texas and the Guadlupe Bass loved it. In addition, I also added yet another species to my fish-caught lifelist - the Rio Grande Perch - wich is actually a Cichlid. And of course, Bluegills and Longeared Sunfish.
I recommend using a non-slip mono loop knot as it allows more action with the fly. This is true for all streamers, in my opinion - and apparently the fish on the Llano agree!"

Jigs for trout fishing,November 20, 2006
By clint1from Norfork, AR
"These jigheads tied with egg yarn or marabou work well as your top fly above a dropper in fast water. Use the flies with a six weight fly rod for best results."
