First and foremost, is the powerful composite cork and Rulon® disc drag. It has an ultrasmooth engagement to protect your tippet from a fish's initial line-ripping run. Plenty of excess braking power is there whenever you need it with a quick turn of the large drag adjustment knob. The drag is also sealed to protect against sand and debris. One of the first things you'll notice about the XSS when you pick it up is its solid frame and balanced weight. The machined-aluminum construction and unique ported design are the key to its lower weight. The XSS's large arbor spool promotes quick line retrieve and large line capacity.
