"I bought some Rio Grand line last summer and even at the regular price I thought it was worth every penny. Smooth, slick, floats endlessly, casts tight loops, in other words, perfect. I really like the welded loop in the end - you're either a "loop guy" or a "nail knot guy", but this is WAY better than any homemade or add-on loop for a nice stiff connection that turns even light leaders over nicely. Try it and if you don't like it, cut it off (doesn't affect the taper).
Try the camo green color - I think it's a nice compromise between being "stealthy" to the fish while still being visible to you.
Maybe it's being discontinued and replaced by something else from Rio, but even if so I don't care since I don't see how it could be more perfect. Stock up at the Bargain Cave price - I am!"

"I'm a big fan of the Rio Grand fly lines - I have two, a 4-weight and a 5. The 4 is used on my Sage 490-4 XP and the 5 is used for my Sage 590-4 and 586-4 Z-Axis rods. The lines load these fast action rods perfectly and cast accurately in all conditions. Another big plus is that the Rio Grand lines float high first time, every time. The welded loop ensures a convenient leader connection and a sealed tip. Highly recommended!"

"I am very clumsy and rough on fly line and I never get through more than two seasons without getting it mangled and shredded on rocks,sharp beaver sticks,etc. so I have tried out numerous fly lines over the years.Rio Grand is my favorite for four main reasons-Its coating makes it handle better than the others,the camo green color is a good compromise between angler visibility and stealth,the welded loop is great for quick and easy leader changes,and it is made in the USA(as far as I know).The only down side is its cost.I wish a subdued color and welded loop was available in a lower cost line."

"This line loads my 7 wt Sage XP (fast action) fly rod extremely well. I've used other lines that have performed satisfactorily but this one is tops. Most of my fishing is big river nymph fishing with a little dry fly fishing including midge fishing in the winter and this line is up to the task in all conditions."

"I have been fishing with a Rio Grand 8wt which is a relatively new product in NZ.I find it easy to throw and very easy to mend.It is supple and dosent seem to tangle as easy as some other lines do,I also find the coating to be very slick which aides with shoot-ability when throwing a full line as is some times (most times)needed."

"Definitely the best line on the market for fast or moderate fast action rods. If you want to throw tight loops and need to cast longer distances at times this line will make your rod sing, if you know what you are doing with your rod, anyway. Also, floats great and stays flexible in cold weather."
