"Wore this jacket steelhead fishing in upstate western NY. Didn't rain that much but the jacket was very comfortable and warm. Don't mind not having handwarmer pockets because I wear gloves to fish when it's really cold. The lenght is perfect for a wading jacket. If you want something longer, buy a rain coat. Just have to wait and see how it holds up to a downpour or a snowstorm. Already recommended this jacket to others."

"I puchased this jacket for a four day late fall Steelhead fishing trip.
Location: Altmar NewYork - Salmon River (About five mi. from Lake Ontario) Weather: Windy Rain / snow mix - 30 to 35 degrees
I spent about eleven hours per day in the river and this jacket performed great. I was only able to take the jacket off for a few hours of the last day of the trip when the sun finally came out and it warmed up a bit. I wore a pair of cold weather thermals with a hooded sweatsirt under the jacket and I stayed warm and dry the whole time. I especially appreciated the snug fitting interior cuffs."

"Gor Tex just isn't thick enough. Jacket lets standard rain through after a while. I have a standard jacket that was much less that holds up much better. For a light coat ok but not for a rain jacket of that cost."

"I've had this jacket for about a month now and have worn it a couple of times while fishing. It keeps you dry, has plenty of room for motion, and is very comfortable. There are also lots of pockets for equipment. The big pockets on the chest really are quite large and perfect for equipment. Because it is made with goretex, it is very breathable for days where the temperature stays below 70 degrees. Everything about this jacket is great, I just wish it had packets for your hands (hence only 4 stars). Not a deal killer - escpecially considering the price for this jacket is so much less than other comparable jackets on the market."

"I bought this jacket on sale before a recent trip to yellowstone park. it was cold and rainy the first couple of days of the trip and the jacket kept me dry and fishing. i looked at Simms jackets but chose this one primarily because of the quality of cabela products and the price. the numerous pockets are a great feature and provided space for fly boxes, glasses, and food. i am 5'11" @ 175lbs. and the large fits great. this is a great jacket at full price and a steal at the sale price."

"I like everything about this jacket but the main zipper...it's a bit of a struggle. (Actually, it has been a common problem I've had with a number of Cabelas products - is it just me?!)
In all other respects, the jacket is as advertised. Ample pockets, good fit and it shed water very well during the rain that fell on the first day I used it."

"I want to discount several reviews that knock it for lack of front lower pockets. C'mon, we're wading in water... I don't want big front pockets that would fill with water. This coat is perfect. Big enough to layer, loose enough for the big casts. I love it and at less than half the price of other similar jackets like the Simms ones."
