"Whatever it is, this concoction really works – well. I started using this on the recommendation of a friend who owns salt water bait shop. Per his instructions; spray-everywhere, including lines and cork handles then wipe down. The same for reels-spray inside and out. I tried it and now use it regularly. Also, a little goes a long way, making this a product worth the cost."

"I gave this a three star primarily due to the packaging and delivery of this product for use by the user. The spray bottle has a nozzle which sprays a thick stream of product to excess and causes a lot of waste. The underlying product is great, but with due to the delivery system it cannot be efficiently used. To overcome this problem, I had to change the spray bottle with one with an adjustable nozzle."

"This stuff may feel somewhat slippery but it certainly does the job of cleaning reels. I am not even certain oiling is needed after use but I wipe off as much of the cleaner as possible and still apply my favorite oil and grease. It seems to have put some new life into my older reels. I like it enough to have given it as a gift to friends ."

"I repair fishing reels of all kinds and own more than I can remember. I use an ultrosonic cleaner for nasty inner components normally. This cleaner is handy for cleaning and preserving exterior and interior reels and parts. Just a little oily though , so use sparingly. I recommend it if used as directed on label."

"This stuff is fantastic! It doesn't take a whole lot one pull is all the cleaner you need. I had an old quantum baitcaster that made a zigging noise everytime you casted. After using the Penn Reel Cleaner on it it looks brand new. With new lube and grease it doesn't zig anymore when i cast it."
