"Of course the idea is to remove the harmful environmental effects of lead outdoors and this product accomplishes that. The utilitarian aspect is to weight your flies to sink them to the desired depth. This product has the required weight to do this and is also easy to wind onto the hook. In short, this product supplies the requisite qualities, no lead and easy to use on the fly tying bench to give the flies the necesary weight. Mission accomplished."
