Rainshadow 905 and 904 Rod Blanks,September 2, 2008
By ELMO913from Union,Mo
"There are other blanks on this web site providing better value and performance than these. I've built 2, a 9 foot 5 weight and a 9 foot 4 weight. Both blanks were slow and heavy especially in the tip section. Long casting sessions feel more like a dynamic workout rather than enjoyable recreation. Lacked power, accuracy and sensitivity. Both blanks had clear coat blemishes also. If you want a good workout, buy one: if you want to fish all day look elsewhere."

Inexpensive and functional,January 7, 2008

"I finished the build on these blanks, and I am quite happy with them. The 6'6" 2wt casts more like a 3wt, but that is not unusual. The rod is a nice moderate action, and the 33 mil modulus graphite is nice and sensitive.
This rod is not a powerhouse, but it cast very well for a small creek rod. I have been extremely impressed with all of the Batson blanks, and the manufacturer has been extremely helpful in answering any questions I have. These blanks are an amazing value for the money, and produce a fantastic rod.
