"I fish for King Salmon, Chum Salmon, and Steelhead, and almost never for anything else. Ocean run fish are many times stronger than any freshwater fish, and you need the best gear to have consistent success. The one thing connecting you to that fish is the hook.
I use these hooks for gear fishing and also as the stinger hook on articulated salmon/steelhead flies when fly fishing. There is no other hook on the market as strong or as sharp as these, and it's not a close comparison. I have used every brand of "octopus" hook out there, both domestic and foreign. Not one of those others is even half as good as these.
Spend the extra money, it's worth it."

"These hooks are my first choice when it comes to deep sea fishing, extremely sharp and strong.I caught more fish on these hooks than any other hook i ever used.I tried many hooks from different manufacturers just to test them out and found these - overall- the best .I highly recommend them, give them a try and you'll be very happy with them.I usually use 3/0 and 5/0 , they work the best."

"I am on a fixed income so money is tight . I bought this hook in (bulk) pro packs . I have lost more fish with this hook then any other . Not very sharp right out of the package compared to other companies . The only good thing I can say is its strongly made . I haven't had a hook bend or straighten or break . If intrested in these hooks buy a single pack to try them out first . I bought it in bulk to save money , but now I gotta go out and restock with something else . I'd say this would be owners low end hook for quality and performance ."

"The Owner Needle Point hook boasts the sharpest edge of any hook on the market. I recently purchased the 5315 SSW and tied a couple dozen leaders in anticipation of fishing Canada's Barkley Sound for Chinook and Coho salmon. Qwner's claim of a sharp hook is right on...I didn't have to sharpen a single hook. Every fish I caught was on a hook taken directly from the pack and the fish were caught on first strike. After reviewing the catch, I noticed all the hookups had penetrated deeply into the hard surfaces of the fish mouths. The old saying "sharp is good, but sharper is better" sure holds true with these Owner hooks."
