"Bought this item on a whim. Looked neat. The scale does work but the fish needs to be knocked out or dead first. If it wiggles you don't get a very accurate reading. It does seem to do what it's suppossed to do though.
The pliers are ok too. I would like to see a section on the pliers to cut pencil lead for slinkies though.
The clipers are pretty cheap and won't cut through line much thicker than #10."

"bought this for my son for Christmas. He hasn't had the chance to use it yet, but is very excited to do so. It is a needed addition to his tackle box. He has opened it and says it is heavy dute quality and should withstand the toughest fish around!"

"my mother got me this for my birthday and I took it to my vacation trip to maine and and I picked up batterys for the scale in maine. The package said 3 double A battery so that what I bought when I got to the cabin and went to install the batterys the where the wrong size they where suppose to be 3 triple A battery which good thing me friend had some on him because its a far drive to stores in maine"

"I am not happy with this kit. The scale is ok, but the pliars and clippers are cheap. A finger nail clipper from the drug store would work better, and the pliars are heavy and poorly finished."

"I bought this set because it was a good price, but I discovered a great value. Every angler I know wants to weigh his catch, and this is a great little scale, outstanding pliers, and the clippers are always with me. I wear them around my neck, and I don't go anywhere without my neck. I really do recommend this fisherman's set. I'm even going to buy a couple of sets for my friends, they are that good."

"I used this fish scale in Canada this summer, it was easy and gave a good reading. The fish were only out of the water a very short time, which ment no harm to them. This is handy item for any tackle box."
