"I purchased the cottontail rabbit distress call. It produces very high quality sound, and much better than the other cheaper plastic models on the market. The overall quality of the call is excellent. The wood finish looks great and sounds great! I am glad that there is at least some instructions on how to use it or else a beginner would be completely lost. In my area we don't have very many coyotes (I go somewhere else for coyote hunting). It has brought in other predators though such as fox and many scavenging birds like hawks and crows looking to feast off of the dead carcass. I highly recommend over the electronic calls, since you can simply do more with it and because this is very compact. If you are in the market for predator calls, then you should buy this product."

"Our son was very happy with the predator calls. That's all I can tell you since he lives in NH and we haven't heard them. He is a hunter and has used a lot of bird calls, etc. and was pleased with this one."

"I purchased the Red Desert Howler, PC-1 Jack Rabbit and PC-2 Cotton Tail calls. The PC-1 & PC-2 are closed reed calls and, like all other closed reed calls, are almost fail-proof to use.
The Red Desert Howler is an open reed call and does require practice to master. I did not expect comprehensive instructions on the package, and they are not. I would recommend "Calling All Coyotes" and "Calling all Coyotes 2" to get excellent instruction on the proper use of the Red Desert Howler. I practiced my calling along with the DVD and after a couple of hours was producing sounds like the pros.
After you get the hang of it, the Red Desert Howler is a very versatile and well built call."

"I've been using the Dan Thompson R-D Howler for a couple years now and I have to say it's gotta be the best out there. I've bought just about every one I've seen on shelves anywhere I go and this one is my favorite. It takes a while to get used to, but once the reed is broken in and you've mastered it, it's absolutely amazing! I'd recommend this call to anyone who wants a successful coyote hunt."

"I have used the PC2 to call in desert fox & jackels here in Southern Iraq it wworks great. I also purhased a red desert howler but Jackels although they look like song dogs they are not as vocal so i have not used the R,D howler to call anything here"

"The first time I used this call, I called in three coyotes whithin gun range. This call has become my favorite. Great tone and easy to use. I have many coyote calls, but this call is superior for barking and howling. Very effective long range."

"Great call! I had bought several calls lately to replace my favorite call which had a reed that was going bad. It seemed like I would not be able to find an adequate replacement, until found the PC-1. The PC-1 is extreemly loud an very raspy, exactlly what I was looking for! "i practiced with this call for no longer than 10 minutes then went out to a place that looked great for predators i sat down and started calling in 10 mins i had a big red fox come runnning in across the ice. talk about adrenaline"

"First of all, this thing really works! I have called in numerous coyotes, bobcats, and even a few foxes and raccoons. When I first opened the package I couldn't get the call to "break over" which is a good thing. When a call breaks over it leaves the normal tonal range of the squealing rabbit and starts to sound a bit pitchy and fake. After about 20 days of use it has started to break over in really cold weather. One of the great things about these calls is that you can send it back to Dan Thompson and they'll re-tune the call for you. This call has accounted for 7 bobcats this season between me and my friends...yeah it works!"
