"The wife and I enjoy catching pan fish from our stocked pond in our back yard.This product works great.Fill the, pan with about 1/2"of water above the bottom of the drum,put in 25 nice sized gills,turn it on.Come back in 15 mins. to well scaled fish.Then we use our fish and game cleaning table that we bought from Cabela's.to finish up the job.Cleaning is a snap.It does take a bit longer for perch as we expectedit would.Well built and very easy to use and clean."

"I was very pleased with the ease of using this tumbler and was even more pleased with the outcome. It scaled 30 Bluegills and 10 Crappies combined in just 20 minutes! I filled the tub with water with the tumbler in its operating position "PRIOR TO PUTTING THE FISH IN" so I could see the water line. You only want about 1/2 " of water in the bottom of the tumbler itself for the best results. I'm very satisfied with this product !"

"Works pretty good for perch under 10 inches although I was hoping it would work faster. Expect about 30 minutes for 30 perch 8-10 inches, maybe a little less if they're smaller but we don't keep many of those except when they're not gonna survive anyway."

"I found this product to work great. You must read the directions to use it. Perch do take longer to scale in it And I don't put over 30 at a time in it that takes about 20 minutes to fully scale them also sorting them by general size helps greatly and having the water level on the drum at 1/4 to no more than 1/2 inch is the ticket for good use.also make sure when you plug it in it is the only device on the outlet you use.i found out when cleaning fish at night if I put a pair of floodlights on a stand on the same cord it will make the tumbler come to a stop like the motor is trying to sieze up but that is not whats wrong the motor draws a lot of power and should be on its own line because there is to much power draw on the line once I seperated the two lines it ran faster and worked perfectly"

"I purchased this product as a present for my parents. It has quickly become a "community" fish scaler with friends stopping by to use it because of it's ease of operation and cleanliness. We have ran over 2,000 fish through it and it still works like brand new. It cuts your overall fish cleaning time in half and makes for a much more efficient indoor operation in the winter. I would reccomend grouping your panfish by general size/type as this seems to work the best for removal of all scales. It also removes the slime associated with fish cleaning and that makes the fillets taste better as well. I wish I would have purchased one of these 2 years ago when I first saw them. It has already paid for itself in my mind in this year and I would purchase another one immediately if this one happened to have any mechanical problems, of which we have had none. Excellent product!"

"This is the second automatic fish scaler that I've owned and it's the best ever! Last night we used it for the first time and we loaded it with 47 bluegills. My other one only did 25 at a time and I was a little concerned that they would all be scaled completely. I was pleasanty surprised when ALL 47 fish were scaled and washed to perfection! "Well made (USA) fish scaler. I cleaned/scaled about 40 crapie in 15 minutes. I have talked with others who own the unit and use it with pearch and they said it takes longer with pearch (20 min). The fish were totaly scaled and the water in the tub washes the scales off. Tub was removable wich I liked. SS scaling drum seems very sturdy, so did the tub. Cleaned up with a garden hose in a minute or so.
This product has been around our area for a long time and I know a lot of guys who have the scaler, all have been very happy. The price at Cabela's seemed fair even with the shipping as the guys I talked with paid closer to $300 for theirs about 10 years ago.
I would recomend it to others."

"This fish scaler is awesome! My wife surprised me with it for my birthday and my first thought was "no way is that going to work" and "what did you pay for it?" I'm a fishing guide in northern WI and this thing really does work. It scales 50 bluegills in a matter of minutes. Now if I could just get my wife to clean and filet them!"
