"These kokanees are really powerful. I snagged and thought I would lose all my gear, but this Walker pulled up an old double mattress to the surface that must have weighed 1000 pounds or more filled with all that water. I still can't believe it."

"I've been downrigging for 20 years , and when I bought a new boat I thought I'd try this Walker Kokanee. I can't believe the difference. My other downriggers jerk when they stop and start. These walkers have a soft start and stop system so they are smooooth. Smaller footprint on the boat, faster , stronger and smoother, ruggedly built...hey send me another one."

"We bought this Walker kokanee from Cabelas because it was more compact than our Scotty and Cannon downriggers and we don't have a lot of room on the boat gunnels.
We were suprised when we got it and first tried it to see it is faster and apparently more powerful than either one..and it's half the size. We didn't like the fact that the Scotty has to lowered manually anyway..it's a pain in the butt, as it's a belt drive and we've busted 3 belts in 2 years.. We are happy with the decision and will be buying 2 more walker Kokanees next spring."

"The most compact downrigger made, but also the most powerful. I have a so- called high speed Cannon that takes up twice the space on the other side, and I when I accidentily got the riggers caught in a commercial gill net, I thoughI I was screwed. I switched both riggers to up. All the Cannon did was blow fuses and refuse to move. My Walker pulled the entire net to the surface..there had to be hundreds of pounds of lead weights holding that net down. after I got back to shore the Cannon came off the boat and I promptly bought another walker. Zero regrets. Walker is the best in my book."

"I would not recommend this downrigger. I have 2 of them and will be returning them. Spool is too small and cable jumps off the spool when the least bit of slack occurs . Motor is slow and has a hard time powering up especially if using a larger weight. Actually shuts off when trying to raise a 15 lb weight. Clutch is to small and cannot be tightened enough to keep from slipping letting cable out when encountering weeds. One clutch failed and was not covered under full warranty . It took three months to get my extended warranty card and only after 4 calls to them. Going back to Cannon. A much better unit."

"I run two Scotty Top end electric downriggers and two Walker Kokanee downriggers Both have auto stop but, The Walkers have power down and power up. The Scottys have a power up button that must be manually held. Not good when fighting a fish. I am replacing the Scotty rigs. In five years of service the Walker has never broke down but, the Scotty's have had brake downs."

"I purchased two of these downriggers and they work great. I like the fact that they come with swivel bases. Other downriggers don't come with them they cost extra and they are a must have when trolling. They also came standard with auto stop just flip the switch up and it stops automaticlly. The only thing I did'nt like were the free fishing poles that came with them. They are really cheap, I do like the twist line guides but don't plan on using braid super line or you'll melt the plastic guides."
