By incorporating the latest technologically advanced materials and improved designs, we now offer a snakeproof rubber boot that's much lighter (up to 1-1/2 lbs. per pair lighter) and more flexible than ever before. Our new Snake Guard™ lining promotes the lightweight flexibility you need for added comfort while preventing punctures from the fangs of venomous snakes like a steel barrier. From diamondbacks to cottonmouths, the boots held up to everything we could throw at them. In fact, here's a quote from one of our field test reports. "The tests were done from all different angles as many times as I
could get the snakes to keep striking. Not only was there no penetration, but due to the
rubber exterior, the snake's fangs didn't get hung up on the outside of the boot." Best of all, we did this without increasing the price a single penny.

great for the price,November 21, 2009
By Robert79from Hackettstown, NJ
"I have been out hunting several weeks in these boots and am very happy with them. The only reason I didnt give them 5 stars is because I have yet to test their snake protection. They are actually pretty comfortable walking around the woods in. I have no blisters. Heads up tho, difficult to drive in... maby they will break in a bit more over time."

Cabela's Snake boots,September 12, 2009

"I bought 3 pairs, a pair for myself and my 2 college age sons. They fit and seem to be well constructed. We haven't run into snakes yet, but they abound where we live and hunt. These are a good boot at a good price."

Short Life Expectancy near the Outer Banks,September 11, 2009
By Mommickedfrom Down East, NC
"I've owned several pairs of these boots.l I don't like a few things about them, but mostly I am dissatisfied at the fact that I can't seem to get a year out of these boots. I guess the Carolina swamps and salt marshes are too tough for them. I bought my current pair about 12 months ago. They are already leaking. I'm switching to another brand of snake boot. They are also too narrow, causing foot aches. Too bad, the price was fair, they just don't hold up. First Cabela's product I have been genuinely unhappy with. I won't be buying any more of them.
Rubber snake boots are stiff, hard to drive in, and never really break in like other boots. They are nice around the water, and most of the other type of snake boots are insulated. Snakes=warm weather. Snake boots+insulation makes no sense. With the right socks, these are warm, waterproof, and the inside dries quickly when aired out. They just don't last."

Comfort and safe,September 10, 2009

"I worked on our property on dry land and in muck at the swamp and these boots got the job done. Worked two days from sun up to sun down and no blisters and didn't have to work to keep them on my feet. All those who have walked a creek bottom know about that."

"I needed rubber snake boots, but could not find them in my price range. A friend told me about these boots @ Cabela's. I ordered them the next day, and in 5 business days I was using them. They do the job. Have not seen any snakes yet to test them though. For the price, you want find a better deal."

Cabela's Scent-Free Snake Boot - 2nd pair,June 30, 2009
By biddiefrom the NW "outback" area of Florida
"I live where Mother Nature still successfully reigns and which includes more rattlesnakes than I care for.
I don't need snake boots for hunting or for working - I need them for the peace of mind they give me to be able to just get out for walks and explore around my property - day or night.
Yes, they are stiffer than I would like and take a little learning of a certain shuffle of the feet. But I can take long walks thru boggy areas, wet grass and thorny vines with no hesitation. Keeping an alert eye out for those rattlesnakes - JIC - (no need to push my luck) - I am free to explore as I see fit.
These boots are easy to slip on and take off - but my female feet are probably more slender than the same length male foot ... And NO buckles or ties to fiddle with; NO zippers to deal with.
With socks on my feet and my jeans tucked in at the top - these boots are comfortable and work great for me. I would have bought them even if they were bright neon greenish-red ...."

"I am very happy with my snake boots. Them being rubber and pull-on makes them comfortable and easy on and off. I wore them turkey hunting this past April and climbed mountains and they worked well and gave me the piece of mind that I was protected from snakes."

Decent for the price,January 20, 2009
By MattHugefrom Georgia
"Pretty good boots for the money. A little stiff but they keep my feet dry. I'm sure I could have bought a higher quality for a higher price but these are certainly adequate for occasional use, which is what I wanted them for. I would recommend spending more on a better pair if you're going to wear them all the time."

Best for my purposes,January 20, 2009
By Billn1from Charleston, SC
"These boots have pros and cons. They work for what I do. On the pro side, They are waterproof for as long as they stay in good repair. They have pretty good traction, usually enough to last me 2-3 seasons. I put a lot of miles on them in thick briars and swamps. They're about as comfortable as possible in a pull on rubber boot. Being able to hose them off or out is a huge plus for me because some of my hunting involves using and keeping dogs. On the con side, They are a little heavier than a lot of lace ups. they don't offer much ankle support, and they can pull off in deep mud. Overall I stick with them and have had several pairs. They last way more than half as long at half the price or less."

Did Not Meet My Expectations,October 30, 2008
By buscafrom Idaho
"First of all let me say I buy a lot of things from Cabelas and this is one of the first times I have not been happy with their product. I also find these reviews very informative and useful in making a selection. I amd 6'4 and about 300 lbs. Size 11-1/2 Wide. Based on what others have said about the shoe order a half size smaller also worked for me. I still had plenty of room with standard socks. And, while you cannot get a wide size in these they seemed to be just fine and not to snug My problem with the shoe is they are very hard to put on and even harder to take off. There seems to be such a tight area around the angle that getting your foot into the boot can be quite and effort. Once your foot is in it is fine. I did find the boot tight around my calfs as well but I am a big guy and recognize that as being a contributing factor. The worst part is trying to get the shoe off. Even with a standard stock it took two mules and Sister Sara to pull these off. Perhaps after the breakin period it would be easier but I do not want to take a chance so I am returning them. I will go to the Cabelas store now to try on others instead of buying on line."

"a little sore footed in the begining on top of foot, got a lot better after several days of break in period. Worst is the noise from calf opening, slapping on calf mussle while walkin. Resolved with a piece of short cord to tie opening tighter. would recomend boot with this already incorperated"

Cabela's Scent-Free Snake Boot,October 7, 2008
By SChunter2from Charleston, South Carolina
"These boots are awesome. I'm a 10.5 and I got a size 10 because I read another review that said to size down if you in the middle. I fully agree. I still have room to wear a few pair of socks or I can just wear 1 pair and they are comfortable either way. I scouted for 5 miles the 1st day I had the boots and didn't have any blisters, pains, etc. Great Boots. I almost bought some expensive ones and I'm so glad I stuck with these. Scent Proof rubber is the only way to go for deer hunting. Water proof, Sturdy, and Comfortable. Plan to layer up the socks to wear in the winter here in SC too. Very happy with purchase. I've worn these about 20 hunting and scouting trips now and am still happy."

Good water proof/srkeak proof boots,August 19, 2008

"The boots are pretty good; they do what it's expected: keep you dry from the knee down and protect from snakes bites. They are a bit heavy but not very heavy. They have a strong rubber odor, but it goes away with usage."
