"My flat bottom aluminum boat only weighs about 1,000 pounds and was moving back and forth on the trailer before I got this strap. Boat does not move at all now. Great product."

"The orange protective pads that are supposed to protect the strap stained my brand new white rubrail. Other than that, the product works well, and has a clever little over-center latch."

"The gunwale tie-down is a great buy. I bought this tie-down to replace a worn out tie-down for my jon boat. Cabela's tie-down has a heavy duty strap with rubber guards that protect your boat's finish. It is also very easy to tie down the boat, and just as easy to remove when your about to put the boat in the water. Also, I don't have to worry about the strap loosening up while trailing, which gives me more peace of mind. It is a great buy and I would highly recommend to those who need a replacement strap."

"This tie down is of excellent quality, and robustness, it is easy to use and extremely effective. However the plain strap could be longer, and the short locking handle strap slightly shorter, this would allow adjustment so that the locking handle is at the port or starboard side of the boat, instead of in the middle, and hence it would be easier to use as the locking handle would be at the side of the boat instead of in the middle, which is difficult to reach when the boat is on its trailer."

"I've used several products for this purpose including a ratchet strap tie-down. This is by far the easiest and most secure tie-down I've used to date. I'd highly recommend it for anyone in need of a basic gunwale tie-down strap."
