Good Purchase,
October 19, 2009
By waterboat

"I like these fins. I've had no problem with the straps coming loose while in use and now after a weeks worth of hard use I'm very confident in their light design. I fish trout tournaments in the Sierras and found them to provide plenty of thrust with a normal shuffle kick. They are durable enough to withstand the frigid cold of the high mountain lakes and also take the abuse of walking over rocks while getting into my tube. I would recommend pre adjusting the straps and making sure that the are fitted correctly before use, its silly to expect any equipment to fit properly when adjusted in the water or during use. In the past I've used two other types of fins, both far more expensive than this pair, and found these to be very satisfactory."

Fins,
September 20, 2009
By aussie01

"Found the fins to be very well constructed. However when allowing for my boots the straps are too short ( I have size 13 boots). I was able to "add-in" some length of strap to make them fit. I also added a short length of cord with a clip on each end which clips the loop on the back of the boot, to the back of the fins, just in case they fell off for any reason."

lightweight fins,

"Wow, I really enjoyed the fins. I just got back from my fishing trip in Northern Qubec where I got a chance to use these fins. A friend an I both had float tubes and fins. They made moving around much easier. A little difficult to get in and out of, but once in and clipped right they stayed on all day. No problems I incountered like mentioned in other reviews such as loose straps and falling off. They stayed on well and felt comfortable on my size 12 boots. Only problem I had was walking on rocky shoreline of these northern ponds. They would be a better fit for sandy type or smaller stone and level shorlines. Overall very happy with these tins and I would recommend to anyone."

Don't waste your money on these fins,
June 19, 2009
By John538

"I fish high mountain lakes in western Colorado so I purchased these fins because of their lightweight and low cost however, I broke one of the fins the third time I used them. The material the fins are made of is brittle in cold water. Spend a little more and buy a pair of fins made from a more flexible materal."

Lightweight Fins,
June 16, 2009
By redriver50

"These are the only fins that I have found that will fit my size 12 and 13 wading boots. Other fins, more expensive fins, simply did not have long enough straps. Not only are the straps long enought on these fins, but they buckle with the same type of quick snap and release connectors you find on modern back packs and waders. No more threading straps or adjusting the fit every single time you put them on. You set the fit once and you're good to go. The only thing I'd improve on these fins are the material that the flippers are made from. They are light weight, but that worries me because that may mean they might not hold up over the long haul. We'll see. I would recommend this product especially to guys with larger boot sizes."

"Lightweight" is correct! I would not recommend these fins for anything other than exceptionally still water. Donot use these fins for floatube stream fishing where you could be forced to navigate rapids."

Slightly Modify to Use,
May 26, 2009
By Grubman
from Southern California, Lake Perris and Silverwood

"I have used these fins for over 10 years. I like them much more than my force fins and adjustable force fins. They do not put any stress on the top of your foot, especially when you have not gone out in awhile. Unless I have used my force fins regularly, they seem to strain my feet when I am fighting a strong wind.
I do modify them. I take some neopreme off my old waders and sew it around the straps to cushion them. I also wear the strap around the front of my feet very loose. This helps the fin go off your foot when you kick forward and gives you extra propulsion.
By the way, I usually fish 70 to 80 days a year, for at least 8 to 10 hours at a time (as much as 12 hours) and the wind usually blows when I'm out there. I am a bass fisherman and I'm usually fishing plastic worms. I need to control my float tube for presentation and these are inexpensive fins that do it."

A finny tale,
May 26, 2009
By mendodg

"Bought these fins to use with a float tube a friend gave me. Went to a little lake up next to the OR border in Nor Cal and used them for the first time. the only complaint I have is they are difficult to get on and off with that darn inner tube around your middle. But they were easier than my buddy who was wearing some fins right over his sock foot waders neoprene socks. I at least had on some real old wading shoes. Still got all around that little lake and caught some good trout and 1 15 inch bass. good day. Don."

Seem a little flimsy,
March 10, 2009
By MOBKells

"I thought these looked a little flimsy, but I have not yet tried them out ( fishing season just starting now) so perhaps unfair to judge yet.
To be fair, they are very light, which is important when you are walking a distance to get to a small mountain lake."

Creek Company Lightweight Fins,
January 9, 2009
By Bill858
from San Diego, CA

"I purchased these fins, used them this morning in lieu of my large scuba fins for use in a small reservoir while float tubing for trout. My large fins seemed to be tiring so I opted for the smaller light weight fins. Bad choice. The larger fins are more effective in propelling my float tube, the smaller fins were 75% less effective in getting me where I wanted to go which means I expended 75% more energy kicking these loose fitting, small ineffective fins. It took 45% longer to kick my way to where I wanted to go. Aftter two hours on the water I went back to the dock, went home and got my large fins. I modified my scubaa fins by trimming the outer ribs to make them less rigid (and made them less tiring to kick my tube around). Bottom line, spend the money and get long flexible fins or modify what you got. Be Fishers of Men, Bill"

Worked great after modification,
October 6, 2008
By cdfbigdaddy
from California
|
"The first problem was the straps would'nt fit my size 13 boot. The fins worked great after I took the strap off the fins (cut the threads) on the strap that goes over the top of the boot. I purchased strap material and made the strap longer sewing it back onto the fins. I did'nt want to send the boots back because I wanted to get out on the lake."

Perfect if you sit high in the water,
September 25, 2008
By Rugerpup
from Denver, CO

"I bought these and also the #313413 to evaluate and came to the conclusion that if your float tube puts you high in the water (because of a foam or inflatable seat) then the version being reviewed here is superior since it seems much more efficient at allowing you to move your leg under the floattube and 'dig' forward with your foot for propulsion. The other version (313413) would probably be better if your float tube has you riding very low in the water and you have your whole leg getting into the kicking action like a backward moving scuba diver. As to the fin itself, it was easy to adjust, stayed securely on my foot, and seemed well sized for the job it was doing. I'll agree with the other reviewer and say that it really is only appropriate to use over a wader boot"

FishingMagician,

"Light weight and very efficient fins. Compact for travel and packing. Gives better propulsion than more expensive fins on the market. May not be as durable as other brands out there because of the light weight , but for the price of these you can get 2-5 pairs of these for one of the other brands which I happen to own before trying these."
