"The lamps are really pretty. The off/on knobs was stripped out on one when it arrived and the other one did first time I turned it on. I had to use frosted glass shade and still the glare in your eyes. you cannot read by them. They will blind you, even if you turn them down."

"Great looking lamp .... works great ... love the frosted glass with the dimmer switch ... its a perfect looking rustic lamp.
Like said before, the power cord needs to be relocated. Overall ... very nice lamp!"

"After ordering 5 lamps we finally found one that was in good condition. Cabelas told us that they are sending the lamps back to the manufacturer as 3 of them had the power cords coming out of the front of the lamp. They checked several in their warehouse and found the same. We did get two lamps that had the power cord correct but one of them had all sorts of blemishs. We ended up keeping the one. The lamp we kept is very nice. We are happy with it and really like the looks and operation of the lamp. We would like to get another to have a pair but not have had any luck. Cabelas has been very friendly and easy to work with during the issues we had with several of the lamps."

Nice Lamp,

"The lamp is nice with only a couple small issues. The on off knob with the plastic nut seemed destined to strip out and did almost immediatley. I replaced it with a metal one very easily. Also, as others have stated the power cord out the front of the lamp is very stupid. I am looking at ways to modify this also. Otherwise the lamp has a very nice finish and great appearance. The dimmer switch is a nice feature on the lamp that I use often. This lamp looks really awesome in the cottage."

"Looks like an authentic gas lantern. It fits in well, in my small den. I like having the choice of using the clear or frosted glass; my preference is the "Frosted Glass". With the dimmer I can regulate how much light I need for reading, or just relaxing in the room."

"I purchased the lamp for my bedroom because you can cim it and it fits the area.
The thing I do not like is the way the power cord comes into the bottom of the lamp. There is no way to hide it.

"I was not excited about the placement of the powercord. I dont' understand why it was designed with the powercord coming out the front (base) of the lamp. The idea is to give the appearance that the lamp is a lantern. You can't give this impression with the powercord being exposed directly below the lantern "control knobs".
Overall, I am happy with the lamps. I would recommend them to anyone looking to add a rustic touch to a room."

"I bought 3 of these. I like them, but it would have been nice if the hanger would have been crimped tighter. Setting on a table, it looks funny with the hanger laying down. The on/off/dimmer knob could have used a nut on the back to keep the knob in place. It sometimes comes loose if turned a bit too hard into the full on position.
I really like the look of the lights. The dimmer allows you to get the amount of light you want and works well. The wife uses the one on her night stand as a night light, but can turn the brightness up to read with as she wants.
Over all.. i would recomend these lights. They look good and seem to work well. Easily put together. Like the fact that you have a choice of clear or frosted glass coverings for the bulb.
Does NOT work with a new style flouresent type bulb if you use the dimmer feature. It strobes until you get the knob turned almost full on."

"We purchased two of the large electric lanterns - shiney brass and we are more than pleased. The packaging was excellent, the shipping time very short and the lanterns are awesome. They were very easy to put together and we love having the option of having the two glass inserts to chose from. These lamps look good no matter where I put them.
A big selling point for us was the dimmer - works great.
We highly recommend these - I'm even thinking about getting another one!"
