"My whole family loved the Grand River Lodge Half Lantern Sconces. I ordered 3 of them for lighting over stairways in our new mountain cabin. They matched the theme of a rustic mountain cabin perfectly. I would definitely recommend them. We also bought the hanging lanterns for over our bar in the kitchen. Also very pleased with them."

"We were very disappointed in the quality/workmanship of this product. Cheaply made. High priced and the first one had to be sent back for replacement due to defective workmanship. We had paid an electritian to come and mount the light then we had to pay him to take it down and remount the replacement."

"Very happy with this product. We have a log home and purchased two of these. We put them in the main hallway where we come in the house. We only use 40 watt bulbs and they give off just the right light. The only thing I would change would be the ability to turn off the top light and only use the down light for when we are not at home. Otherwise we are very happy with the quality and appearance. We get many compliments on them."

"I have purchased Cabela's items for years and have never been dissapointed with the quality - until now. I bought 2 of these lights 2 weeks ago while on special. I had seen them before and felt they cost too much, and as luck would have it they were put on special. I would not pay 1/2 of what I paid for these cheap knockoffs.
The mounting bracket that fits behind the assembly is welded to the vertical rods by very flimsy welds. When I opened the boxes (None of the boxes showed any sign of damage or mishandling) all of the welds were broken. Therefore there was no way to hang the light fixture onto the mounting bracket. I was able to somewhat fix the broken assemblies by drilling holes through the mounting bracket into the light fixture, I then installed screws enabling the attachment of the light fixture to the mounting bracket.
My repair does not look all that professional and if you look closely, you can see that the bracket and fixture are not aligned correctly, but I have 2 wall fixtures that I hope will last a while. I will be replacing them with a quality product as soon as I can afford it. The tin "cone" fits very loosely and had to be superglued to the fixture to keep it from continually falling off. This is an extremely cheap product manufactured with no quality controls. I had hoped to purchase a matching full lantern for the outside of my home, but after seeing these lights I will not be looking for anything from this company for this purpose. I have sent a letter similar to this to the manufacturer. Hopefully someone there will read it and correct their poor workmanship. For the $$$ charged for these lights, they certainly should not be this poorly made. I believe Cabelas should remove this product from sale on it's web site."

"We bought the matching "full" lantern first and loved it, but the half lantern came in bent and the shield doesn't want to sit on it right. Also, the full lantern has a dimmable control built into it, but the half lantern is just hard wired - it's either on or off."

"We were quite dissappointed in the quality of these fixtures. We purchased two of the Antique Copper. The finish was obviously fake. I thought there would be a switch on the fixture to turn the up and down light on but there wasn't. The quality was less than what I expect from Cabelas."
