"I love the lantern decore! This Lamp is very large and hangs down quite a bit. This made it difficult to place in our house. But we love it so much we walk around it. It is very expensive in my opinion but I couldnt find a fixture that is this authentic looking."

"I used the wall lights as sconces on each side of the fireplace mantel on my 1937 barn that I have remodeled into an office/ studio. The large size of the lights really compliment the massiveness of the stone fireplace and barn. The barn's interior walls and ceiling are paneled in 6" T&G cedar paneling. As usual Cabela's has come through with just the right product for the look I wanted."

"The finish on this product was excellent (gunmetal) very easy to assemble and wire. Only, one added suggestion. The base has only two fastners and needs a third at the top to support and level the latern when hanging. I corrected this with a laurel branch and added an additional rustic appearance. The branch was forked and supported the arm, thus leveling the hanging lantern. With the addition of the top fastner at the top of the round base this will be corrected."

"Just built a new log cabin with a lake view here in Northeastern Oklahoma.
The lantern wall lamp was just what i was looking for. Mounted it above a stairway landing about 10 - 12" up on the wall and used a 40 watt bulb which gives just enough light to see the steps without being too bright to keep guests awake in the loft bedroom.
Thoroughly pleased. Mounting was easy too."

"This lantern looks fantastic on our screened porch. My husband put cedar siding on the inside of the porch, and the finish on the lantern blends beautifully. The only thing we changed is the bulb. We bought a "flickering" bulb to make it seem more realistic and "lantern-like"."

"We are currently building my dream home. A real log cabin for family vacations and weekends. I saw lights similar to these at Disneyland and had to have them. I found them here at Cabela's. They are not yet installed, but I am thrilled with their appearance, very rustic and authentic looking and just what I was looking for."

"look great. we have a beach house and now have 3 of the Cabela's brass lanterns hanging there...they fit the beach theme perfectly. Boats passing on the Hood Canal can see them at night. They look like a million bucks!!"

Quality Not Consistent,

"We ordered two lanterns. We got one right away, and the second one was placed on back-order. When we received the second lattern two months later, we found that its manufacture was not of as good quality as the first lantern. Specifically, the vertical metal rods are placed somewhat crooked rather than completely straight, which makes the lantern shade appear to be placed in the lantern crooked, when it is not. In addition, the paint job on the finish isn't as good as on the first lantern. You can plainly see the brush marks from painting on the finish. It made me wonder whether the second lantern was manufactured by a different supplier. I expected better quality on a product at this price. However, it was exactly the type of product we wanted to decorate our home, so I would still recommend the product to someone else."

"This lantern is one that I've admired for years, but finally had the opportunity to purchase. I installed it in our rental B&B, which caters to fishermen and hunters in Alaska. The "oohs" and "ahs" have confirmed that this was the right decision for the right place. It's perfect and everyone (including me) loves it!"
