"Great gloves all around, but ORDER A SIZE BIGGER than you wear! These are pricey gloves. Be totally satisfied and go a size larger! Just thought I'd let my fellow hunters know!"

Gloves are nice but....,
March 13, 2009
By Sox24
from NH
|
"Got my gloves today, I have not used them outside but they appear to be very thick and feel comfortable. I like the draw strap as it should help keep the cold out. They are also very quite and should be good for hunting. BUT, the sizing chart said that I need a medium but I got an XL pair. The gloves fit well but still are a little snug in the fingers. My hands are big but skinny. In the extreme cold I sometimes like to wear a thinner inner glove and these gloves will not allow it. Also it is a good idea to have some air space as this helps to trap our body heat.
No big deal as I will keep these gloves for outside work such as shoveling/plowing/cutting wood or other outside activities that require movement. I will simply order a size bigger for my hunting pair for reasons stated above.
Thanks Cabelas, nice gloves!"

GOOD GLOVES,
December 20, 2008
By DLH4570
from N.E. Ohio

"these are the warmest gloves I have EVER had!! I have tried MANY gloves and mittens, none compare to these. The only flaw is the goat skin leather palms wore out very quickly. 2 weeks of hunting and the palms were worn out. I just went to the Wheeling Cabelas and bought 2 more pairs."

Berber Insulated Gloves,
November 23, 2008
By OHIOBUCK
from Doylestown, Ohio
|
"I would recommend these to any cold weather hunter. I have had these for about 3 years now and they work great. When the snow sets in in Ohio with a temp ranging from 30 to 0 degrees I have never had my hands get cold once. A great buy. P.S. Just like everyone else these run at least 2 sizes to small. I have small hands and had to get the x-larges."

Not Great For Hunting,
November 16, 2008
By WORLDCLASS
from Watertown, NY
|
"I got these gloves for Christmas last year. I thought they would be great for hunting in cold conditions. That is not the case. They are very warm but even with the trigger finger, the glove is to bulky and not flexible enough to shoot with. The trigger finger barely fits into the trigger guard of a rifle. Also, the glove will retain water if exposed to it. It takes a long time for any water to get out and they are not the leasat bit waterproof."

Good gear,

By USUAggie

"Great gloves. I used these deer and antelope hunting in Wyoming in October. 16 degree temperatures with a stiff wind, and I was WARM. They are, in my opinion, too bulky to wear while actually shooting, even with the "shooting finger". It really isn't a big deal. I took the glove off for 2 mintues for each actual shot."

way to small,

By rodgerd

"I ordered these gloves thinking they would help me deal with cold weather hunting in colorado and I guess they did ok although it didn't get really cold.l My real complaint is the sizing of the gloves. i ordered xl and they were very tight fitting and first time out seemed to cut off circulation. They have loosened up some and after this season they may be ok'"

WARM gloves, but run VERY small,
May 8, 2008
By Shark144
from Cincinnati, OH
|
"These are great gloves, but as a previous reviewer recommended, they definitely run small. I have pretty small hands and the Larges are very tight on me. If I want to wear liners, I'll need to get the XL.
Great warmth. I love the large cuffs for ease in putting them on and off. The material on the fingers provides a nice gripping surface as well."

Insulated Berber Gloves,
January 13, 2008
By greenr
from Chandler, AZ
|
"Have worn these several days on both a Nov rifle elk hunt and a Dec muzzleloader elk hunt I was helping a buddy with. Coldest temps I wore them in was one morning elk hunting it was 6 degrees. I was taking pictures of some bulls quite a ways off and had to have my gloves off to operate the camera. They would be icy cold by the time I put the gloves back on and would instantly warm back up within a minute or so. Did a great job of keeping my hands warm and comfortable with good dexterity of a thick glove.
They run small, and I was worried I had gotten too small a size as they felt snug, but I didn't have any problems with them cutting off circulation making my hands cold. Just the opposite, they were a snug fit and made dexterity better and kept my hands warm.
Fleece does pick up grass seeds and burrs, but is very nice to wipe a runny nose with. Like the leather palms.
Have worn them when snowing, and while I didn't get them saturated with water, hands stayed dry while walking and hunting in medium to heavy snowfall."
