in the desert, October 14, 2009
By sagebrushwy from Nisland, South Dakota

"I used my tent cot for the first time staying in the desert. I was comfortable all night even though the temperature was in the low 40's. The second night I used a pad and it made it a lot more comfortable because there was no body heat loss out the bottom. When you use this thing you have to keep it vented quite a bit while you are sleeping or moisture collects on the inside. The zippers seem to work well which is important for something like this. I like this product because I hunt alone and I would rather use this than put up a tent. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is that it could be made of a better material in my opinion. However, I inspected it in the store and still bought it so I knew going in what it was made of."

By Mysticalnjames from Santa Rosa, CA

"Awesome Product. Great for camping and hunting. We have used it several time. Holds heat in well and comfortable. Good for adults and kids. Being Pregnant its so much more fun to go camping then sleeping on the ground in a tent. (I would still go Without it, just nicer)"

    excellent product., September 18, 2009
    By vjack from Ozarks/Missouri

"This is an awesome tent; it's roomy, durable and passed the weather test for me. I'm a 50 year old female, 120 pounds, so the weight and size make it a bit awkward for me to handle but I am able to manage it by myself. The inside of my tent, my bedding, all stayed dry after it was out in the rain for 3 days and it's heavy enough to withstand wind. The only flaw in this design is the flat roof - water will puddle in the middle. I use a wood spindle to set inside the tent and prop the top up when I'm not in it but that could be a problem when I'm actually in the tent especially if my 2 small dogs are in there with me. If it weren't for this flaw, I would give it a 5 star rating. The Kamp Rite tent solved this problem with a couple of poles across the top of the tent giving it enough pitch for rain to fall off and allow more head room which would be nice too. But overall, I am well satisfied with the product and have recommended it to others."

Cot Tent Solutions, September 6, 2009
    By Mntnsanytime from Montana

"After reading all reviews ahead of time I was ready to deal with reported issues with this cot tent. As the inside space is quite smaller than a normal tent, staying warm has not been an issue. Therefore, when using the tent without the rain cover we leave part of the side door covers open. This step has resolved all condensation issues as there is a moving air current within the tent.
When using the rain cover we roll the side door windows completely up. To deal with the flat roof issue we bought a curtain tension rod to place in the middle of the roof prior to placing the rain cover. Another friend used some old flexing tent poles from a tent to solve the issue. He drilled a center hole in the top frame pieces and cut his poles to length creating a small arch in the top. All problems solved. I would have given this cot tent a 5 star rating if the roof design was better.

Deluxe tent cot, September 1, 2009
    By Scooter916 from California

"this great, it took less than 5 min to to set up! including removing it form the carry bag and adding the rain canopy.

it nice that you are off of the ground, no longer searching for high ground at the campsite, or the smooth flat areas.

it is a tad heavy but its bombproof and will last a lifetime, an aluminum frame would be a welcomed addition but not necessary. I'm 6'2" and have plenty of room to lay fully stretched out with out touching the ends. if your under 6' you would even have room to keep your clothes bag with you

    double cot, August 28, 2009
    By JTelkhunter from Montana

"I bought the double and although it's a great idea it's a bad design. I used it twice and one of the buckels broke and the hinge that keeps it flat broke. The double is a bit to heavy and the bag it comes with won't hold up long. I think the single would be the way to go. I would buy another in a heart beat if they would change the design."

Absolutely love this tent, August 19, 2009
By pinyon from Mountainair, New Mexico

"I live out in the country and bought this tent for my grandson to sleep in when he is visiting - he loves it but I love it even more.
I put it on my upstairs outside deck and I've been sleeping in it almost every night. I have a lot of guests and this gives me one more place for them to sleep. It's well made and there is plenty of room in the single cot. We put an inflatable canvas mattress on the bottom and it is very confortable.

Two man Cot Tent, August 18, 2009
    By Barb728 from Homosassa, Fl

"Took the tent for a 5 day camping excursion in Panama City, and as usual with Florida, we had torential downpours, but we stayed dry and off the ground. Water did puddle in the center of the rain fly but nothing inside got wet. Really love it and it's so easy to set up."

    Better than a tent!!, August 18, 2009
    By Skidancer from Spokane, WA

"We love our new deluxe camp cot! My husband has had 2 back surgeries and I have a ruptured disc. We love camping and have lugged around a queen air bed, a huge tent and the pumps to inflate for years, thinking we had it so good! But my back goes out for weeks after every night on that air bed. We have found paradise now! It is very roomy, and firm. There is a bar through the middle of the tent that makes it impossible to spoon with your mate. But if comfort & simplicity is what you are looking for......then you've found it! We recently camped in the pouring rain, the rain fly works great! We liked the fact you are off the ground from the elements. Go out and get yours soon!!!"

Deluxe tent cot, August 4, 2009
    By tromendous from kansas

"I liked it alot it was nice to have something you can just set up in about 3-minutes, about the only thing I did not like is that it is kinda cumbersome. It weighs 50 some pounds and it is not easy loading and unloading without some help. It was perfect for just me and my 2- kids(age8 and 5)."

    Learning Curve, July 14, 2009
    By Barnzie from NE, Ohio

"I love it. I had been eyeing it for a few years and finally "pulled the trigger" and got one. The grandkids (2.5yo & 5yo) and I tried it out recently and it was well recieved by all. The first time setup was a bit confusing, so there is definitely a learning curve to setting it up quickly. However, that being said, if I can do it anyone can. I bought the 2 person version and it is rather heavy."

GREAT for the lone traveler!, July 13, 2009
    By meanmrmatt from Wickenburg, AZ

"Having read all previous reviews, I purchased and love this tent! Noted positives: fast setup, comfy, no problems with the weather. Noted negatives: gets humid if all sealed up, can be too warm for some people, fairly heavy.

I used it on two cross-country camp-every-night National & State Park trips, and had no problems with it until fate intervened.

For those who would complain about the weight of the metal frame: an underaged kid took his Grandma's standard crossover for a drive, lost control, and rammed headfirst into the tent and a tree beyond. Fortunately, I was not in the tent at the time.

The damage? The tree was cracked and will probably die. The front bumper of the vehicle was dented in by about 6 inches in three places. The tent... would no longer fold properly, but was only bent inwards by about three inches by the vehicle and a half-inch by the tree. If I had been in the tent, it would have saved my life.

With the amount of drinking and goofing off common in some campgrounds, I'll rest easier in my NEXT tent cot. I highly reccommend.

By Acornacres from Eagle Point, Oregon

"It's was a wonderful present for Father's Day from the kids and me.It took us quite a while to save up enough money just for the tent. We ordered it early so it would get here in time and he could put it together a few times before he left for the John Day rafting trip.
Too bad I wasn't informed of the FREE shipping coming up.

"I love this tent/cot. The only reason I did not give 5 stars as the instructions for putting it up were hard to decipher and not real obvious. It took me longer than I thought it should. Maybe next time, it won't. It is very high quality and feels like it will last."

    tent cot, May 26, 2009
By staceyshenandoahvalley from Shenandoah Valley, VA

"I bought your tent cot for my 6 yr old daughter who has Cerebral Palsy. We use it for 2 things! A travel bed for her to use in motels and also for her to hang out in outside while we are camping to keep the bugs off and she likes laying down. I'm sure it will be used in the near future for its intended use. I though the price was steep but it has Cabela's quality. Wish it would have came with a cot mat."
