"The vault appears really well made, and the powdercoat finish looks (and has been) really durable. Installation was a snap, and I can't see how you would ever get this thing out of the console without having access to the bolts (which are inside the vault). The keyed lock was a bit difficult to use, as the key won't come out of the lock when it is in the 'unlocked' position. That basically means you have to have the console lid latched and locked at all times, as the factory console lid won't close with the key in the lock.
This was all resolved with replacement of the keyed lock with a combination cabinet lock (now an option on the Console Vault from the factory). Now you can keep it locked or unlocked, but still closed and latched.
While not undefeatable, this would most certainly deter all but the most dedicated "smash and grab" car burglar. I wouldn't own a vehicle with a center console without a Console Vault."

"I recently bought 2 of these Console Vaults; 1 for my '06 Ford F-250, and the other for my 07 Chevy Tahoe. Both were easy to install, and both work great, and I especially like the combo lock. I was a bit skeptical at first of these before I ordered, but both have exceeded my expectations in quality, and ease of installation."

"THE VAULT FOR MY 2008 F-250 HOLDS EVERYTHING, THE CONSOLE DID WITHOUT THE VAULT, ITS BIG. THE NEW IMPROVED LOCK IS A THREE NUMBER CODE, WORKS GREAT. MUCH BETTER THEN A KEY. THE CONSOLE VAULT IS A MUST HAVE."
